Emergency dilemma - scam email.

Received this email, clearly a scam, thought I'd play along and see what sort of response we could get from the scammer.
Below is their email and then my response.
Be interesting to see if anything comes back.

Her email:

I had a trip to London, unfortunately for me i got robbed in the hotel where i lodged in, all my belongings had been taken away from me including my bag.I'm so confused right now, I don't know what to do or where to go. I didn't bring my phone along with me and the hotel telephone line's were all disconnected during the robbery incident, so I have no access on telephone, I have access only on emails. Please can you lend me $2,000 so that i can pay my bills and get a flight ticket back home.i will surely pay it back to you as soon as i get back and have access to my account.

Send the money through western union transfer and forward to me the western union receipt so that i can be able to pick the money

Have you contacted your embassy? Where are you from?
This is a terrible situation to find yourself in.
I had a similar experience in Thailand where a street kid took my backpack and left me with nothing.
I can understand your dilemma and do what I can to help you.

Yes. I work for Travelex and do a few Western Unions a week. I always ask who the funds are for and where they are going.
I'd get a person a every week or so who has been scammed in some sort of way.

I try to advise them not to send money or do a draft which requires bank account details etc and in one case flat out refused to
do it...

Most people see the light and walk away, but I have had one or two. I just give them the Western Union brochure with phone number on it,
and tell them to call WU direct and not to let the receiver know the MTCN number until done....

I can do that, I just need to be able to get the money together.
Two grand is a lot of money. As I said I'm happy to help a lady out.
It might take a day or two.

Hey DW, when you say you'll send it. Tell her that you've got a test question for her to answer.
She if she's clever enough to know the answer of whatever question you come up with !

And get her to verify her passport number and nationality and expiry date/issue date to match the receiver details.

If she does that then BINGO ! Pass the info onto the Feds !!
