Well worth waiting for to do weekly shopping. Good work Coles. I think Woolies is doing something simular but for drought affected farmers, they had it organised b4 fires.
INSURER AMP and retailer Woolworths have each announced donations of $1 million to the Victorian bushfires fund.
The AMP Foundation and Woolworths will contribute the funds to the appeal established by the Australian Red Cross.
AMP will also match staff donations up to $250,000.
The insurer said it would act quickly to process insurance claims in affected areas.
Banks including National Australia Bank, ANZ, Commonwealth Bank and Westpac have already donated $1 million each and Wesfarmers has pledged $500,000.

Does the monies go towards rebuilding community centres, ovals ,memorials. I always hope that when you give a donation it will go to the people directly and not be divided up in admin fees.

Exactly Troy, which is why Im never keen to donate money. I'd rather go out and buy $100 worth of toiletries and pillows etc and take it to the showgrounds.

This I dont agree with, why dont they just donate $1m like other major companies? or work out their average profit for Fridays and donate that?
Instead they try and get more mileage out of it by getting people in their doorsdisgraceful IMO
