Hi Mr66, what a cruel twist of fate for this poor little girl and her family... i actually thought the big man upstairs must want her back and real bad..... i feel bad for her parents they must be thinking just when we thought things were looking up..... life is so cruel

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, Terrible.
For those unaware Sophie was one of the kids that got terribly burnt when the stupid old fart of a pensioner sent his car flying through a child care centrea a couple of years ago that gave her and other severe burns.
A carer was taking her across a pedestrian crossing recently in a modified pram as she still can't walk and another stupid old fart of a pensioner when straight through doing 60kms which took the pram 18 metres down the street to send her back into hospital.
I honestly cried with what happened originally especially being a Dad who used to have his kids in childcare but for this to happen on top is just firm proof there is no god (proves me right).
My heart goes out to the poor kid and her family.

I'm rotten that so many old people are allowed on the road, I've been involved with 2 accidents myself with old farts and Pensioners Inc continuously point to facts that show pensioners are only in 20% of accidents not taking into account that they're only on the road .5% of the time.
I'm ropable on this issue.

As for young Sophie, I thought lightning wasn't supposed to strike the same place twice. Very poor luck indeed. It didn't kill her; it will only make her stronger.

Good call mal, if someone does find a fund to help her and her family out post it on here and I'll make it a sticky.

all people over 50 should be forcibly placed in nursing homes, & not allowed to contact the outside world.

What a terrible thing to have happened, again. Hopefully she can recover in full from the broken bones and bleeding lung. Perhaps there is a God? How else could she have survived two horrific incidents.

Looking at the pedestrian crossing where she got hit on the news, that is a disgrace. For all the rules and laws put in place to make us "safe", they allow a pedestrian crossing on a road like that...

That poor girl, cried my eyes out over the Sunday mail this morning. Life can be so cruel sometimes. as a father of a beautiful lil 2 YO girl. The thought of the hell Sophie and her parents has been through. Just makes my heart feel like its been hit with a baseball bat.
Get well soon sweetie, i dont know if there is a god, but if there is one, he owes you a favour.

Her father said the best thing that any individual could do would be to become a blood donor.
I'm not but I should consider it.......whats involved if anyone does donate?

Any parent out there would have a hollow feeling in the pit of their stomach when hearing/reading of this tragedy,and thats what it is,a tragedy in every sense of the word.Too often you hear that term used when some poor over paid sportsman does a knee or breaks his /her jaw.

Good call Booney, often these sportsmen are often referred to as "Heroes" as well and for what, playing a game??

I don't think this is the time nor place to weigh into the whole God debate, what has happened is the cruellest of tragedies and their can be no conceivable explaination for it, nor can anything be said to provide comfort ... Sadly it seems to take things like this for many of us to realise just how fortunate we are and have been, and I really feel for both Sophie and her family!

I'd also like to suggest that IMHO it's not the elderly drivers who should be blamed for this, it's the people in charge of deciding whether they are road-worthy or not who should be held responsible for accidents as a result of their vehicular inadequacies!!

As per previous posts, if there is a fund in place for Sophie, I'm more than happy to contribute!

Yes, a small consolation but thoroughly deserved. Have heard him speak on several occasions and after hearing him it is quite obvious where Sophie gets her spirit from. Truely wonderful people who deserve nothing but the best of luck from here on.
