Looking for an investment portfolio
Vending machines have always intrigued me
Are they profitable or a waste of time and effort ?

I know someone who was a bank manager and gave up their full time job because owning X amount of vending machines was less stressful and paid just as much/more money !!
As long as you don't mind counting coins

Maybe if you're moving to Japan - this is a photo I took in Hiroshima, 15 of them in a row!

I noticed that at Romeos 24 hour Foodland at Campbelltown they have installed a New Release DVD Vending Machine and these are most likely only going to get more and more popular one might think!

Need to keep them stocked and need them in a high turnover place (like tertiary institutions, as mentioned earlier). Need to get on the back of a 'craze' of some kind to make really good $$ - had some with basketball cards in them about 15 or so years ago, was restocking them weekly, had about 15 of them and was turning over about $1,000 per week (50% profit margin, roughly). The cards died off and I didn't bother working out what to put in them next, sold the machines for more than I paid for them and walked away pretty happy.

Someone i know works for a lady who owns about 30 soft drink ones. He works a few days a week re-stocking them for her. He reckons she makes a fortune, but she does own quite a lot !!!

Had a mate (who admittedly is quick to jump into new ventures) a few years back who quit his job and bought 12 or 15 vending machines for his new business ... Never really asked him how it went, but I know that a few months later he'd moved on and was selling Amway instead lol, so Im guessing he didn't fare too well out of it.
