Chiropractors

I recently started seeing the local chiropractor to try and fix my back related hamstring injuries.
I've had bad hamstrings for the past seven or eight years and I presume it's to do with my back.
Has anyone else had success with chiros in fixing their hamstrings?
If not, what other remedies do you reccomend?

Double Amputation is not an option.....?
I would suggest you verify the bona fides of your chosen Chiro. One Chiro recently broke a patient's neck during treatment.
Another Chiro was advising female patients that part of their treatment program would require an internal examination at each appt.

What Squawk said, check the qualifications of your Chiro, make sure they are from a registered tertiary training provider i.e. University. Avoid the charletons with "qualifications" from natural therapy institute or the like. Be very wary if they call themselves "Doctor". Can't get a Doctors degfree without six/seven years at University i.e. need an MBBS or PhD.
Personally I avoid Chiros go for a Physio.

Other way around for me Bays..
I find most physios are overpaid massage therapists.
Good for joint and muscle rehab but not for backs.
I live by mine, he's brilliant.

CN i tore my first hamstring at 15 years of age and went to my chiro for it. Chiros are very effective in alligning your back/bones to allow the muscles to knitt properly. Very effective for not only hamstring but other muscles as well.....
I have only ever had minimal strains since
My Chiro is very good with sports injury

CN,
As you know, I've had horrendous back problems over the years.
Last year, remember BDO time, I was seeing a chiro - I saw one for a month and was getting nowhere.
Slept on the floor, etc, etc, etc.
I've been seeing a physio for once a month since then and my back is exceptional, compared to in the past.
My physio gave me those massages that FC mentioned and also put things back into place.
She also gave me a series of stretches and a few other tips to getting my back right.
I did my hammy midway through the season. Seeing the physio has helped me get my hammy right.
In fact, my legs are feeling the best they have in years.
One top I'll definitely give you. Short sprints.
A lot of people tend to avoid doing sprints after they've done a hammy.
Over the summer I did a lot of short sprints, only about 10 to 15 metres and that has helped to strengthen them.
Just my thoughts. Call me if you want some other thoughts on it.

Im in a similar boat to you CN.
Typically i see a physio for strengthening work for core stability etc but have also been seeing a chiro on fridays before sport, just to get realigned to give my hammys every chance of hanging on. That seemed to work quite well for me.
Hopefully 'The Haitian' nurses me through the season.

I've found that my back problems can be eased by physio's and deep massage, however the muscles only compensate for a structure that is not supporting you. The muscles soon tense up if the structure is not aligned. hence I see a chiro and do heaps and heaps of stretching. My back is much better.

One exception I know of is that Osteopaths call themselves doctors with about 4 yrs of study.

Chiropractors can do some good, especially those with common sense, but you have to worry about a form of therapy that in its bottom line claims
all disease is caused by misalignment of the vertebrae.
I had the sad experience of treating till she died a lady who had spent 6 months having her neck manipulated for the lump in her breast...

I can recommend an occupational and rehabilitation physician at Hindmarsh - Colin Mills.
