Speed Cameras

Postby The Ash Man » Thu May 14, 2009 11:34 am

I was driving along the Port River Expressway this morning and there were radars on tripods in front of Rodeo utes on both sides of the road.
Is this a new thing?
First time I've seen them

They were just the Port side of the Salisbury Hwy bridge yesterday one each side of the road and the previous day they had a different vehicle type I think as a passing motorist on the other side of the road flashed his headlights warning us of what laid ahead

There has been speed cameras on the Port Expressway and South Rd extension to Salisbury Hwy everyday for the past fortnight, morning and afternoon. Mostly they have been the standard type, on the front of Falcon wagons, but i have seen them on tripods with green canvas put over them to camouflage them, in front of Mitsi Pajeros. Has been motorcycle cops with guns just before the Port bridge too most days.

They are making a fortune out on that new road, mainly from trucks during the daytime and hoons dragging at night. Unmarked cars are up and down there all day, every day, so it's not only the cameras to look out for if you want to take a chance on doing some speeding.

they have been around for awhile, they are mainly used in areas like North Adelaide where due to parked cars a usual radar can not set up, so they have a tripod at the back of a parked rodeo.
