I have a Nokia E51 mobile, found it in the couch one morning and the keypad had frozen, still receiving calls etc just couldn't accept them. Sent it away to be fixed and get the standard reply 'Liquid Damage'. Come in and we can arrange for you to buy a new phone!!

This phone had worked fine, never had any water spilt on it, she said maybe condensation. When I opened the back up there were no signs of burns etc on the hardware where other phones I've had that have gotten wet have done. Bloody pissed off, do I have any options here? They can just say 'liquid damage' and I have to fork out for a new phone?

If condensation is able to get in the phone, is that my fault? Make the bloody phone properly!!

I have the same phone WCP.
About 3 weeks after I got it the 'number 1' button would not work.
I was so frustrated, I just pulled and jiggled around with it and it started to work fine again.
Haven't had a problem with it since (Fingers crossed)

So I'd be making sure that it's not just something like that, and that they're not just telling you fibs !

But on the same subject, my last phone, I loved to bits, never had a problem with it, then it just decided not to charge, I could have sent it in to be 'checked out' but I would have had to foot the bill if it was not their problem.

Basically phone companies seem to have us over a barrell when it comes to our mobile phones

I had a similar problem with my Nokia in the past, but fortunately after turning off and on again the problem was fixed.

I would agree that they do have us "over a barrel" too. The cover on the back of my phone was loose from day 1, when i mentioned it, they said it was "cosmetic" so couldn't be replaced. Ridiculous because it could quite possibly have became loose an then became faulty.
