D_g I tried to pull a sicky or two in the distant past without being sick. Only to find that a week later I would get sick. As I'm probably only sick once every two years, I'd like to keep it that way and don't tempt fate.

Always worked in a sector that checked up on you if you called in sick and had it's own medical people for those living on or near the base :? not impossible to get away I suppose with but very difficult and the consequences of getting caught are not worth the risk.

But I'd never have the guts to try...born coward...won't even try and take more than I'm supposed to through customs cos I'm convinced I'd have guilty written all over me

Regards
JAS

Two weeks back I contemplated pulling a sickie as I needed a day off, didn't end up doing it and just went to work anyway. Then last week I had the whole week off with suspected swine flu... only just had enough sick days to cover it.

I've been self-employed since November 24th 1975 - no such thing as a "sickie" for me.
If I didn't work I got no money, but the operating costs kept on piling up.
Nevertheless, there were a few occasions when even that couldn't get me to work...
