Ha kids, classic. Here's a conversation I have with my daughter almost nightly.
"Dad, can you please put my pyjama's on"
"I think I'll look pretty silly in size 5 pink pyjama's bub"
"No, can you put them on me please"

We both have a chuckle every time.

We all have kids in our lives, whether it be our kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews etc, etc, etc....

So thought I'd start a thread about funny stories/things the kids in your lives have said/done.

That was pre my time and I forgot to ad the usual line of 'sorry if this has been done before'

I tend to have lots of laughs in my house with my boys. Tyler is the eldest and he's 6 and has Autism so some of the things he says are so funny and honest... Tyler is quite tall for his age and he asks my dad's wife who is barely 5 foot tall if she is 9 years old ? She asked him why is that and he told her because she is as tall as a 9 year old....
The world of kids certainly puts many smiles on your face in between the tough times...

My goddaughter get's pretty chatty for a 3yr-old, one time at dinner she made the observation "I'm da girl, you da man", I replied in my best wigga impersonation, "NO, YOU DA MAN!". Confused, she repeats, "I'm da girl, you da man". I return again with "NO, YOU DA MAN!". With a frown she says, "No, you da man, I'm da girl" and without wishing to frustrate her anymore, I exclaim "I'M DA MAN!" and give high fives all around. She smiles and says "That's right, you da man."

I was at the supermarket, in the fruit and veg section, a week or 2 ago with my 4 year old daughter. A bloke walked past with an eye patch on, obviously due to some kind of medical problem. My daughter yells out 'Look Dad, there's a pirate !!!' Luckily he thought it was pretty funny...

Another time, i was at home with my kids and my wife was away in Melbourne. The mother-in-law was due to pick them up to take them out for the day - it was a Saturday. She was running late (nothing unusual), when the phone rang and it was my wife. She had just spoke to her mother and she wouldnt be there for another hour or so - apparentely she thought this was the original plan. I had made other plans around her, and i said something to my wife along the lines of 'Your mother is stupid sometimes' Well, the phone went about 5 minutes later and my daughter rushed to answer it (she was 5 at the time). Her conversation went something like this 'Hello Nanna, my daddy isnt very happy with you, he hates you and thinks you are stupid...' Once again, luckily my mother-in-law has a sense of humour...

I done something similar when I was a kid, a man had a neck-brace on and I called out "Look mum, that man has his hat on upside down", that was one of the tame ones, I embarassed my mum a fair bit as a kid.

Never bag friends or family in front of kids, certain to put you in it.

Talking about saying stuff in front of kids.

This happened when I was about 14.

We had two Aunty Margarets in our family,
And to distinguish between them, sometimes the adults would call one 'fat aunty margaret' as she was quite large
(of course not to her face and in a nice/funny way, not horrible way - if that makes sense)
To us older kids at the time (Although not politically correct these days..lol) it was funny.

Until....

One day my aunty Margaret came to visit,
at which my 3 year old cousin proclaimed in the loudest excited voice possible
"Dad, dad, fat aunty Margaret is here"

Welll....You could have heard a pin drop,
I can't even remember what happened/ramifications etc,
Just remember some very embarrassed adults

Kids!!

I had an uncle Glen who my dad used to call Stew, he wasn't too amused when us kids started calling him that to his face.

As a 4yr old mum had taken myself and sister to Midnight Mass ... My sister and I pretty much loathed one another throughout childhood, and when there was only 3 Hymn books left, being the eldest my sister got one to herself and I had to share with mum.

Apparently the congregation appeared less than impressed when I let fly with "I want my own F*&king Hymn Book" at top note ... I dont remember it, but mum reminds me every Christmas.

Watching the Horse Race on Sky and 2yo son comes up and yells "your horse winning Daddy?"

followed by - "put my shows back on"

I know the feeling mate, my 4 year old thinks she owns the 50" plasma in our family room - i get ushered off to the crappy TV in the bedroom if i want to watch something ! She is obsessed with that new Go channel - Scooby Doo, Jetsons and the Flintstones she absolutely loves !
