Dear Santa.....

Are you struggling to write your Christmas list for Santa?
Think you already have all the toys that boys (and girls) could want?

Take a look at the lovely shiny cars on here...

http://www.rinspeed.com/pages/content/frames_e.htm click on 'Concept Cars' on the left side index

The Gadget Show went to see them and drove a few in Monday's episode...they're Swiss and they build concept cars...the difference is these ones really work...take a look at the videos...the sQuba one is great fun :D ..and be patient cos it's called sQuba for a reason ;) The X-Trem's pretty handy too.

Only downside...nothing is for sale so you're going to have to beg...a lot  Well not quite nothing... no concept cars but you can click on 'New + Used' and try and buy Andretti's race car

...and if you're looking in Santa...new kitchen for me please ;)

JAS

Santa's not real JAS.

It's just a bunch of exploited underpaid elves working their fingers to the knuckles making Barbie Dolls, D.S game cartridges, bicycles and new kitchens while freezing their butts off in the North Pole because that is the only place they wouldn't cause an uproar after people discover they've been smuggled in from Neverland. The whole operation takes place under the guise of "Santa Clause" but it is simply a front for the corrupt organisation that makes it all possible.
It makes me sick to the back teeth and I haven't forgiven them for forgetting my ******* train set back in '78!

Just thought you should know about it, that's all. ;)

Don't get me wrong I hate Christmas more than any other time of year...see post below made exactly one year ago (spookily enough ;) )...but these pretty shiny things are made by Swiss elves so they're quality shiny stuff like Toblerone and cookoo clocks and penknifes that have loads of attachments to get boy scouts out of horses hooves etc :D

Subject: Things that give you the sh1ts

JAS wrote:Christmas...hate it anyway but having shops full of Christmas carp before Halloween and Bonfire Night have passed is just bloody ridiculous....

...and people who cover their houses in lights and decorations from 1st Dec through to the 6th Jan should be shot.

...and while I'm in such a good mood...fireworks...the country goes into overdrive to bring in extra anti-terrorism measures at the drop of a hat and panics over the huge rise in knife and gun crime among kids but is more than happy to let almost anyone buy explosives once a year. Now we have people letting the damn things off every night between now and Christmas. This one ain't just me...all my pet owning friends hate it too.

That's better    ...god I love this thread.

JAS

...and the above applies even more this year...some shops started putting out their Xmas stuff in the middle of bloody September

Oh damn - the American invasion is complete then??
Or is it the PC inability to mention our own traditions in case they offend someone else?

Actually I think the correct name should be Saint Nicholas, Bishop of Myra :D he was always credited with being the real and original Santa Claus.

The traditional Ho-Ho-Ho, jolly fat bloke in a red and white suit was the creation of the Coca-Cola company or at least their advertising team I think.

I know. So depressing :(

Next thing you know we'll be calling it Leg-go when we all know that Ley-go is the cromulent pronunciation.

I love this whole discussion about PC ruining Christmas.
Has it really?????
Are any of us not celebrating Christmas because we might offend someone? Do any of us actually, other than anecdotal evidence, know of any school/kindy that doesn't celebrate Christmas for fear of offending others?
Bah humbug!

Spend your time angsting over something real, like the commercial aspect of Christmas ruining Christmas ;)

Any culture should be allowed to have their traditions as long as they don't actually hurt anyone in the process like Hindu's celebrating Divali or the Muslims having their present giving at the end of Ramadam (forget what it's called  ) or the Jewish Hanukah. In fact I think it should be encouraged and explained in schools as most problems between cultures are caused by ignorance imho.

Haaaaah...note the disclaimer at the bottom of the page on that site...a poor imitation of the great original...you're getting as bad as the Yanks :p

As for the Fritz...I've never heard of Devon :-?? but from the way Fritz has been described to me in the past I think it's what we call Pork Luncheon Meat here :?
