He wont be released mate. Premier Mike Rann has issued some legislation that ( IIRC ) allows him to overturn the Parole Boards decision.

ie : They let him out Rann puts him back in.

Rann has publicly stated Von Einem will never be released. Von Einem's Mother passed away a few years back and he had once noted in court that when his Mother is gone he will spill the beans on the whole Family era. This has yet to occur, thankfully.

I reckon there would have to be some nervous 'blokes' out there if he did spill the beans. Plenty of people have led a charmed existence due to BSVE's silence.

I saw him in court getting done for kiddie porn.

Due for parole in December I think. The legislation says that prisoners with life have their decision on parole made by the Cabinet i.e. Rann. It's always been there though I think. Rann sticks his nose plenty into Parole Board business, but I doubt the Parole Board would release him anyway.

I don't see why he shouldn't be released however. He has only been convicted of one murder, albeit particularly horrific. Others would get a shot at Parole in those circumstances, why not Von Einem? Because everyone has decided he's guilty of the other murders.

Not telling the authorities what he knows wouldn't help his case i wouldn't think.

Thankfully? I would have thought we would all want him to spill....finally reveal what he claims he knows.

And yes, there should be some dodgy people feeling very shifty if he did choose to.

Not for anyone to pass comment on, certainly not in here!

DW, I say thankfully, because do we really need to know? Sure the families of the victims have no answers but I for one would not be upset if it ( The Family ) was never spoken about again, good riddance to bad news IMO.

Here is one man that should remain behind bars for the rest of his life, not like he minds he basicly runs the prison (I have mates who are guards there) and he lives comfortably in there, he also doesnt deserve any aknowlegement of his excistence post the crime he commited and even if he talks about "the family" he still shouldn't get a reward for it, well unless that reward is a bullet

I'd rather see those involved get their just desserts - then we can put it to rest.
There is a stench that hangs over this case with according to rumour and innuendo many people from 'high society' being protected from any fall out.
After that is achieved we can say good riddance.
Just my thoughts.

Too many good decent people die from terrible diseases and this vile creature sits healthy and happy in his own cell! Wasting tax payers money on keeping him there! I have a young son and the thought of there being more out there like him makes me cringe. I for one would be happy if he came out and named names, get these animals off the street. I would feel at least 10% safer then.

Crap REB, you do some reading. Perhaps 3 co-offenders. One businessman and one in the judiciary are the "high society" component.

Anything else is just conspiracy buff crap.

Mate, rumours about Amatuer League footy are hard enough to swallow, but when you throw in hear-say like this in a matter as sensitive as this you really need to think more about your posts.

For those interested in this, I can highly recommend Bob O'Briens book called Young Blood.
