I used to enjoy skyshow.
Just for a bit of perspective. I live in a town of about 50,000 people here in Japan. It has reached no great heights by most measures, but it has a sky show that goes for about two hours every summer. The next town over is a bit bigger say about 100,000 people, they have one too. Just about every town of any note over here has a huge fireworks display, some of them are simulcast to music and often they will hang huge cables over areas of land or rivers that will rain a constant stream of fireworks for a few minutes while other fireworks shoot overhead at points of the show. It looks a little like the way they light up the bridge in Sydney every New year's.
Not saying this just to belittle things over there, just saying thats all.

Just your typical Japanese cul-de-sac then ?

Ooh - I'd like a few of those for next Guy Fawkes night, but I guess I may have to build my own as the local shops don't stock them...

Ah, those ones only come special delivery from the U.S. We have to order them from Pearl Harbour in Hawaii a couple of years in advance. They are a bit sleepy there though I am told, so we sometimes have to make a bit of noise to get their attention. After that they become most enthusiastic about getting the poppy little things delivered ASAP.
