Things you won't eat or drink because.......

Postby A Mum » Wed Dec 02, 2009 9:51 am

Further discussion into reading that Gingernuts just made a coffee with off milk *shudders*

Is there something you will not eat and or drink because of a 'bad' experience with that particular 'thing'
(Am predicting a few alcohol related stories here  )

Mine...

I will not and ever again drink Brandy and Coke !!

When I was 18 - I drank brandy and coke just because that was my mums preferred choice of alcohol.
I was so sick on it one night that even now 22 years on just the smell of brandy makes me almost dry reach :ymsick:

I will never ever drink Wipeout again. Not sure if the still make it. Just the thought of that coconut smell makes me feel crook. Got severely smashed on it when i was 15 and have never been so crook in my life.
So you've seen everything have you?

Mum I am the same with Southern Comfort

It was one of the drinks of choice to get drunk while at high school and I have such bad memories of being sick off that horrible stuff that I would never touch it again

It would be so much easier to be a teenager today with all the alco-pops!

Peas
Brussel Sprouts
Disgusting little green things

Coffee
Smells and tastes terrible
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Curry's  They are my favourites. Nothing like a good curry and then giving the missus dutch ovens all night in bed :D

I swear everyone has a Southern Comfort story - "yep, drank it till I had a big night when I was 16/18/21 and never touched the stuff again".

Bundaberg Rum is another one notorious for that.

I went off my old man's home brew for several years, had a massive night on it whilst camping and was not well the next day. Try packing up a campsite on a 30+ degree day in the Mallee when you can't even keep water down. :?

Black Sambuca.
Sculled a pint once. Will never have even a sip again.
Just the smell makes me vomit and relive the worst night of my life.

I had a bad experience with the old Nikov casks of Vodka nad Orange juice. 3 days after my experience I went to a friends house on a hot day and could smell oranges and power chucked as soon as I walked in the door.
I cooked some corned beef once about 10 years ago after I hadn't had it for about 10 years, it was absolutely beautiful, I just kept eating and eating it, the next day I was crook as a dog and had to have a week off work never to try it again.

Me three...

Only time I've ever barfed from drinking.

As it is, I have never been able to stomach the smell of licorice ( I dry reach walking past Darrel Lea  ).

So anyhoo, my best mate and I went to the Crows Christmas Pyjama Party at Players back in 1993.

They had $1 sambucca shots so while I was in the loo, she bought 20 of the bastards, when I came back there were 10 in front of me - and she said "DRINK".

The next morning, she rang to see how I was - and my BF at the time said that I couldn't come to the phone because I was in the loo chucking - I could hear her celebrating the fact that she'd finally made me throw up from drinking from the phone in the kitchen.
