I was at a shopping centre yesterday with my daughter and we saw all the kids lined up to see 'Santa'

Next mum in line goes up with about a 3 year old and about a 6 month old child - Well - 6 month old screams the house down !!
So of course mum had to take 6 month old and move a few metres away from scary old santa!

Given the time of year I thought it'd be nice to share some santa stories as I'm sure there's a few safooty members out there who have them-
As in stories your parents have told of yourself, your kids, or your grand kids-
Maybe we even have some santas of our own who are forum members

I've got one for each kid...lol....

I remember when my now 19 year old was about 4 years old.

We were living 'country' at the time.
And there was a huge line up to see Father Christmas - A son was second or third in line.
A Mum was standing back a way with the other mums.

We waited and waited until Father Christmas finally arrived, and the first little girl went up to see him.
A Son heard Father Christmas say "So have you been a good girl this year?"

A son went

Left the line and came running all the way back to me-
Horrified and saying "Father Christmas wants to know if we've been good - but I haven't been good all the time "

He was so cute and concerned - me trying not to laugh - told him it was alright and that he just tell santa that he was good most of the time.

But boy it was funny at the time - not to mention loosing his spot in the line up !!

My Niece who is two has screamed everytime she has seen Santa but when he she santa on the Wiggles DVD when watching with her Uncle she points to him and smiles

When A daughter was little - she never slept very soundly and would always wake up at night when the slightest noise was made.

This was my biggest fear come putting things under the tree on Christmas Eve,
That she would indeed wake up.

My fear came true one Christmas Eve-
I had just placed the presents under the tree when I hear miss 3's voice behind me-
I freeze
And trying to think on my feet I whisper with hast and usher her quickly back to bed-
"Quick back to bed - Father Christmas is still here - he's gone out to get more presents"

At that point my husband had realised what was going on-
So thinking on his feet he grabs a little bell that we've got-
Goes outside her window shakes the bell and says/goes "Ho ho ho" in his best Father Christmas voice

So my daughter accepting the fact that Father Christmas was still here and that if she peaked she'd get less presents went back to sleep

I still laugh to this day of A dad having the thought of going outside her window and doing that - was hillarious !

Ahh kids - got to love them!

Youngest A Son - aged about 2yrs I reckon he was-

When sitting on Father Christmas' knee and being asked "What would you like for Christmas?"

his reply

"A paddle pop"

Don't think Father Christmas has ever been asked for one of those before - he was a bit shocked

Yes we did manage to sneak a paddle pop under his pillow just moments before we woke him up for christmas morning !!

Our 2 1/2 year old is terrified of him this year. Although today at Myer he said "Santa" and smiled from a distance. However, any attempt to go closer and he clung on to me like a koala and buried his head in my shoulder. Oh well, he still got a flute and a reindeer hat so all wasn't lost.

When mum tried to get his photo done the other week he collapsed on the floor crying and said "other way, other way".

It sounds like Thiele's niece ... they seem to like Santa in theory but can't cope with the real life version!

It's the first year we haven't been able to get a Santa photo with him. Our 10 month old got his photo taken but no doubt he will find Santa scary next year!

A comment apparently made by one of FC's helpers after our visit to the Cave a few weeks ago tends to back that up.

After the photo was taken I left with our 6 y/o son, we waited just outside the cave for the missus and our 21 month old daughter. Initially they were right behind us, but finally resurfaced after a couple of minutes.

Turned out that every time the missus tried to lead our daughter out of the cave she darted back inside to be with The Big Man

Missus quotes one of FC's helpers as saying that it didn't happen too often.
