I haven't fished a jetty in years so I'm no help.
You could try one of the Beaches at west lakes that has a kids playground next to it like
Anthea Court Reserve or Tiranna Way Reserve.Depending on the age of your kids lovetotalkfooty.

The lake is quiet for artificial fishers. But bait is working like pilchard pieces .Or I have seen in the past unweighted line with Bread catch some big Bream.

Used to get leatherjackets down at Rapid Bay but if that's a bit far, you might get a bite at Port Noarlunga. I've never had any luck there but there's always someone there with a bucketful!
