I just checked my morning emails and found the following message...

Dear user of facebook,

Because of the measures taken to provide safety to our clients, your password has been changed.
You can find your new password in attached document.

Thanks,
Your Facebook.

The senders addy is... Facebook Login <confirmation@facebook.com>

Without opening the attatchment I tried to log into Facebook as normal and had no problem at all using my normal account password etc so as far as I'm concerned this not a genuine email.

Did a quick search and found this which sounds very similar...so please don't open the zip file if you get one too.

I never respond to any e-mail from any company telling me to 'click on the link here to change your password'. They are all phishing scams, and no reputable company in their right mind will send an e-mail along these lines.

If there is something genuine they often tell you via a notification on your profile.

Yeh same here but sadly, as with those foreign lotteries or the Nigerian generals wanting to give you money etc, there are always some naive enough to fall for it...or in the case of Facebook possibly their kids use it and click on the attatchment without a second thought.

Forewarned is forearmed
