From the article:

"I would be loath to see it taught as theory.

"It's up there with the world being occupied by aliens since Roswell."

Perhaps a subject detailing the Powers 140 years of history too?
They could break it into 3 semesters, one for each goal they kick when celebrating it.

And I've been asked to go to Qld and give evidence in their Supreme Court in late June.
I wonder if telling them I couldn't take a state seriously that taught Creationism would get them to ban me from attending? :D
I don't want to go anyway..

No - a murder - allegedly committed by a patient I saw in Melbourne prior to his moving to Qld in late 2005 or early 2006...
I'd already been up for the Committal Hearing back in early 2009.

The reason the prosecution want me up there is that he was doing fine under my care and would have been responsible for his alleged actions had they occurred then.
The defence is arguing that since he gave up his medication and got on to booze and Marijuana in Qld his mental state deteriorated and he was not responsible at the time of the alleged offence.
My position: I know nothing first hand about his state after he left Melbourne, 2 years before the event, so why drag me into it and waste my time?..

This is veering rapidly off topic and probably should leap over to the "Things that give you the sh1ts" thread, but what the heck...

In a perfect world the argument "I was all boozed/doped up" would be an admission of responsibility, since it is ultimately a matter of choice to get boozed/doped up in the first place and one must therefore accept the consequences of voluntarily entering into this state. Any defence shyster who would attempt to argue diminished responsibility from this would be fair game to be dragged outside the courtroom and given a solid kicking. For bonus irony, the persons designated to administer the kicking should each be made to drink a beer first.

Sadly the world in which we live is far from perfect. Should I ever succeed in my fanciful ambition to become dictator of this fine country, I shall make it my second act to enshrine the above paragraph in law. Right after I standardise the beer glass sizes across the nation.
