I don't think too many will be surprised about certain allegations.

The McMcD Foundations Slowdowns will become an SA Story of Admiration for many years to come. Just like the John Martins Christmas Pagent, some things will always remain in our memory banks. The event gave fun and enjoyment, the funds raised gave so many opportunities to enhance the lives of sick kids

It's sad that the Foundation will be wound up in it's current format.
Hopefully the new foundation McDermott appears to be creating can move to bigger and better things. While he may be a crap commentator, no one can question McDermott's (or McGuinness') efforts in making the foundation the success it has been.

Online Article has now been updated.

From AdelaideNow website
http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/sout ... 5906398189FORMER Crows captain Chris McDermott says he "encouraged" Tony McGuinness to quit the children's charity they set up in 1996 to protect its image.
It was a day of turmoil for the Adelaide institution yesterday as the two former teammates parted ways and three other board members quit.
McDermott said it was "a horrible day" but he maintained that the reputation of the charity was more important than their friendship. "I am happy to say we discussed it at length on numerous occasions and I certainly encouraged him (McGuinness) that it was certainly in the best interests (of the charity)," he said.
McDermott declined to comment on the factors that drove McGuinness away from the charity, which has raised $13 million since its inception, but alluded to rumours surrounding his friend's personal life.
.... He said an expanded foundation would soon be relaunched as the Little Heroes FoundationChris McDermott was my hero as a footballer, and I enjoy following his work in the media.
The great things that have been achieved through him and Tony establishing the McG McD Foundation should not be over-shadowed by anything else.
I agree, the Foundation should not lose financial and community support through one persons stupidity (or allegations of stupidity). So I wish Chris and his team continued success with the Little Heroes Foundation when it kicks off.
PS I'm keeping my avatar as my mark of remembrance. Love 'em or Dislike 'em, they did a great job

If the story is already out there and the public are aware of it, how does McGuineth leaving aid their image?
Just because he leaves it doesn't mean the story does.

Guys and gals, whilst there's been a lot of rumours that have been doing the mills and some may in fact be correct please try and keep discussion to that which has been mentioned by mainstream media only. It covers our arse and yours.
Cheers.
