Ancestry.com.au was a one off payment of about $90 for me. Results were very interesting but similarly to Bedge when I tried to do a family tree I could go back to the 1400s on my Mum's side but my Dad's side stopped at my old man's mum (as far as blood relatives go).
The only reason my Dad found out who his mother was was by contacting Nunkuwarrin Yunti in town who tracked her down for him, unfortunately she passed away just before he got to go up to Darwin and meet her.
The Ancestry DNA match has brought up a couple of close cousins who live in Tasmania who I know would be the kids or grandkids of my Dad's Dad but as Dad's Dad never even wanted to meet his illegitimate child so I have never bother contacting them. Shame as I have some Scandinavian blood through that part of the family, an area I'm fascinated with.
I'm sure The Bedge would be aware of Nunkuwarrin Yunti and the services they have but if not that's who to go through to find out family links.

There are people that can do all the searching for you, obviously at a cost, but worth it if you get a more comprehensive overview of the family history.

I went to do the free trial and lost track of days and then got hit with the fee.
But given I've paid for it I've decided to use it.
A very easy way of losing countless hours

I am. Told the two others in the office to have Friday off and make it a 4 day weekend, then next week I'll have the Friday off before the long weekend and get away early to beat Port Wakefield Road traffic. Friday will be dead any way.

It would be rude not to!

Heading over to Melbourne on Friday for the GF. Didn't want to risk flying over on Saturday morning.

I haven't had any sick or annual leave since Christmas 2020 so I was keep for 4 days respite.

I might have to "From Home" though.

I work with small businesses, these businesses now lose a days (probably 2) income but still have to pay wages, just another kick in the guts after so many have been impacted heavily. Just don't think we need a PH for this, if people want to grieve take an annual leave day.

"Appearing on the ABC’s Insiders on Sunday morning, Albanese said Thursday 22 September, which coincides with a memorial service for the Queen, would be a national public holiday."
