We have a 40th Birthday party rapidly approaching, the (self) catering for which has rapidly sped past farce and is now well within the scope of disaster.
Does anyone have any recommendations for reasonably priced caterers? The event will be in a community hall with around 100 people attending.

We just had my wifes 40th and 80 people at our house, we catered it ourselves but got in 2 TAFE waiting staff to take the food around and man the bar. I thought it was a bit of overkill but there were fantastic, and we didnt have to worry about it. $20 per hour cash in hand was well spent.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. We had a bit of a crisis meeting with the Birthday Girl yesterday and a few things appear to be (relatively) sorted. They are still going ahead with the self catering but the menu has been rationalized and some of the logistics reworked. While not completely confident,I am at least hopeful we can carry it off. The event is at the end of October,if we are not facing charges from the Health Department,I will report on the success or otherwise of the night!
Thanks again for the interest
