Concrete removal

Hi all,
keen for some advice, have some old concrete that I need to dig up out the back (old cubby house "foundation"). digging will be easy with jack hammer/pick/crow bar but wondering how to dispose of it :? reckon it will be at least 3 or 4 full trailer loads
HArd rubbish has been and gone, have spoken to skip hire places, generally $200 FOR 3X3M but they are $100 per tonne for every tonne over 800kg (I reckon it will be 3-4 tonne all up and not keen on spending $500-$600?)

Any help or advice would be great

Get hold of a trailer and take it to the dump yourself. A couple of years ago when I worked for a small building company we would take building waste to the transfer depot in North Plympton and a dual wheeled trailer was around $60 a trip then.

Best to check with the dump first as they may have some restrictions on what you can and cannot dump there.

There is a place in Wingfield that recycles concrete by crushing it up and using it for road base and the like - not sure if they take direct from the public though. Here is a link you may need to call them: http://www.arr.net.au/recycle.php

Since its clean fill, just get a mate who lives in the country and ask to put it on his land down a quarry or something similar. I did it a few years ago, dumped 2 truckloads for a bottle of brandy.

Concrete is 2.4t/m3 if that helps working out tonnage

Go the skip , it will save a lot of time.

I used a couple of 3cube skips in recent times and filled them to the rim without extra charge, but I suppose it depends on the company.

PS don't use a jackhammer, use a sledgehammer it's much more enjoyable and it will make the beers at the end of the day taste better :D
