Possibly, heaps of shit going on, the guys on the floor love it when I walk out the office on a 40+ degree day, rub my arms and go "brrrrr, it's freezing in there."

Instead of just shit?

I tuned in for a fair portion of the Hottest 100 on Saturday, what a ******* load of shit that was. Absolute shit. I guess if you ride a fixed wheel bike to your local organic coffee place while stroking balm through your beard you'd like it, well, pretend to anyway.

Then on Sunday Double J replayed the '97 Hottest 100....thankfully that reinstated some faith.

There's a big difference between good shit and just shit, me thinks.

On that topic, what the **** happened to rock & alternative music that had balls to it?

What passes as rock/alternative/indie music these days is very safe, vanilla and limp-wristed.

Shit, even the Foo Fighters became a watered down, dad-rock version of themselves. I remember seeing them in 1998 (IIRC), and they had balls.

As much as I've heard they still put on a good show, I wouldn't dream of seeing them unless they only played songs from the first two albums.

Obviously, I am just using Grohl and Co. as an example, but they're not the only rock band to have gone down this path. Pearl Jam is another example.

There is still good shit out there FC the thing is these days you really have to hunt it out and that can be very hit and miss. For example I'll go to a line up of five bands who I don't know to suss them out and I might like two maybe three on the bill. There are good bands out there but they are not the ones getting the hype/push like Amyl and the Sniffers, King Gizzard, Bad Dreems etc. And they are not the ones getting played on Dribble J.

As for Dave Grohl I'm not sure what happened there, but I saw him when he was in a "real" band.... ;) :D

We were VERY spoiled in the nineties when there were so many great alternative bands around.

I don't recall that one, only Gawler, Gawler Oval or Gawler Central.

I started commuting by train in about 85.

North Gawler was renamed Gawler Central in 1984.

My grandparents lived at Gawler, remember catching Tram from Glenelg to City, jumping on train to Gawler, used to cost 0.20c for the complete journey.
