Suggestions for work function venue??

The social club at my work has a mid year function every year on a Friday or Saturday night.
In recent years we have gone to "The Gov" in Hindmarsh and the Wakefield Hotel in the city.
We are now looking into what would be a good venue for 3 or 4 months time to hold our "annual dinner". Specifically somewhere in the city due to it being central.
Anyone got any suggestions re a good pub (or perhaps a restaurant) in the city. Somewhere where they do nice food and not too expensive. We'd anticipate anywhere from between perhaps 30 to 65 people attending.
Any suggestions much appreciated

We had a function recently at the Gilbert hotel but only had cocktail/finger food was excellent.
I've also been there twice for lunch recently and can vouch that the sit down menu is brilliant. They have function rooms too.

Thanks gadj, I'll see if I can check out their sit down menu on line, and see what they're like.

Not at this stage, CP, just looking for a good pub (or restaurant) so the social club committee can make a booking for a sit down meal.

I havent been there for quite a while now, but a few years back The Cavern Club was always well priced and decent and there was plenty of space in there

Have used the Hackney Hotel for a couple of footy club functions before and they have always been good. Have got a few different rooms to choose from, a number of beers on tap in each room, the food is good and the prices reasonable.

I enquired their last year and was told they don't do sit-down dinner functions.
