Lemonade...that cool refreshing drink..

Postby Footy Chick » Fri Apr 29, 2011 12:10 am

I bought a can of Schwepps at the club tonight - it just doesn't taste the same as it used to, it doesn't seem to be very "lemony" anymore.

Vote for your favourte lemonade above.

I had to vote other 'FC'.
The best soft drinks I've ever tasted were made by 'Sharpe Brothers' in Sydney during the 1960's.
Although their lemonade was sensational, their cola and their orange were definitive.
The only soft drink to come close to these brilliant flavours IMHO is 'Woodies Big Sars'

Sprite, IMO it is far better in a can.
I do drink a fair bit of the Kirks Lemonade as the local servo sells 2L for $2.80 cold.
Halls merged with Kirks or however it all happened, but no Lemonade was better than a can of Halls Lemonade (Halls Fruita was better too). The Halls Lemonade had a certain tang.
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

I was a fan of Halls too. Sprite, just doesn't taste as good as the old fashioned lemonade, although its probably the best of what we have today.

I ordered two lemonades in a small town diner in America once.

Took forever to arrive and when it did I realised I should have ordered 7-Up.

Had a laugh with the owner who said he was glad he had some lemons :)

I remember as a kid when my dad would grab some beer at the drive-thru, he'd also buy a bottle of really cheap lemonade, I think the brand was Oakbank, which I think was a family run business up in the Adelaide Hills.

Woodys for me, had to laugh when I was in Thailand as they had no idea what a lemonade was but when you said a Sprite you got one straight away.
