I've got to feel for this guy.

Doing his job, confronts a guy committing armed robbery with hostages then shoots a cop at point blank range.

Surely 25year minimum.

Start to make these animals think twice.

i don't agree with the cop, these people (not just in this case) should get life with no chance of parole, this bloke got off lightly because he was a poor shot because had the cop been shot & killed what would the sentence have been

all this does is tell people that if you shoot someone all you have to do in court is claimyou were on drugs, had a bad childhood & be very remorsefull & you'll get off with a lighter sentence ;)

life sentences are only 25 years or something ridiculously low

we need to get harder on crime

I agree, go in and say you were on drugs and they give you a second chance 'get out of jail free' card...... its pathetic!

Hopefully the copper sues NSW workcover over it, if they don't want to pay for prison time they can pay for compensation fairly enough.

At least he's alive, the officer i mean. Tragically the Queensland officer has lost his battle. A father of young children too.

One of the accused (perhaps the shooter himself) apparently was slightly mauled by a police dog when arrested. He's lucky. I was thinking that isn't half what should have happened. Wrong i know but emotion comes into it.
