All bad news IMO. Yeah let's broadcast to the world that we're out somewhere and no one is at our house.

Yep, we all remember the old man calling someone a twit?

Rings out more true now than ever before.

*Footnote*

For those keen to be a twit, do you still get your job done, or have things at work seemingly got a little more stressful?

ie - Arseing around on twitter and facebook too much to get your work done?

Social networking is mindless drivel.

I recall reading a status update on facebook not long ago.
"Oh, I hope I don't forget to feed *****'s animals while she's away, a weeks a long time with no food LOL."

I'm sure ***** would've been rapt to let the world know she wasn't going to be home for a week and person "A" was going around there to check on the house.

The invites make me laugh too..... Dipsh!t is attending the party on Saturday night on the other side of town.

I'm not on twitter, but it can serve a purpose as a real-time news outlet. The Middle-East and North African uprisings were mobilised rapidly via the use of twitter.

I've no interest in Twitter but I use Facebook and social networking can be very useful.

I'm very picky about who I add as a 'friend' and I don't bother with the games etc Half my family live overseas and since leaving the RAF so now do most of my friends and former colleagues so Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with them without having to rack up a huge phone bill.

I also know that after the Christchurch and Japan earthquakes when landlines and mobile networks were out some on here managed to find out that reletives and friends were safe via Facebook.

It's all down to how people use the sites...not everyone on them is a mindless idiot...just as not everyone on here is or anywhere else for that matter

JAS

You obviously havent used Twitter before, way more anominity than Facebook. I use it mainly to comment on political issues personally, follow others comments on any said issue or topic.

And as far as the work factor goes.. im a public servant... What work ;) I can handle Twitter, FB and SaFooty and my workload all thanks to my superhandy Iphone ;)

I'd put that down to stupid employers too lazy to block Facebook and Twitter access.

As both are easily and conveniently available on smartphones, what would be the point?
