Lookout/high building in city centre?

I have a couple of visitors from overseas coming soon, and would like to give them a 'bird's eye view'. Unfortunately Adelaide doesn't have any tower in the city for tourist purposes (although we SHOULD)... is there any ordinary office building/something that the public has free access to? Somewhere that if we went to the 8th/12th floor or whatever, we could at least get some kind of a view of the city??

The best view of Adelaide is most certainly from Mt Lofty. Can see for miles from up there. Not in the city I know, but a pretty good compromise IMO.

Montefiore Hill is ideal. At Light's Vision.
Windy Point and Mt Lofty offer distant views.
Otherwise, go to the Intercontinental Hotel (was the Hyatt) and explain you are looking for accommodation for your boss who is jetting in from overseas. Ask if you can have a look at some nice rooms on the upper floors, with views looking to the city as well as to the River. They will show you the rooms if you look and sound genuine.

Daytime, perhaps on a Saturday. I'm not sure how business-like I can appear to be with me, my wife, my mother-in-law and a neice...
Mt. Lofty is good, but I'm also looking for something right in the city if there is anything... maybe someone will build a tower as part of riverbank?

As soon as I saw this thread I thought of the Sir Samuel Way Building (court building). But upon checking the website, the library there, is only on the first floor, so I'm not sure how high up it would be.
There's also a panoramic photo, which incidentally shows the Adelaide CBD about 140 years ago.

Did the same thing about ten years ago when me and a coupla mates went over for Port v Norf final (1999 from memory) and whilst under the influence of various drugs decided we wanted to get a birds eye view of Melbourne so we just picked out a random tall building and made our way to the top. Im sure we woulda looked a site walking around whilst people were breakfasting in their suits, But at the end of the day we got some great vistas over Melbourne and no-one said a word to us.
