Had a minor scare about about a month ago and was booked in last Monday to see a specialist and undergo more tests but came down with Covid on the Friday so he had to reschedule for this coming Thursday. Got over Covid and was feeling fine when I spoke to him Sunday and was due to come back to work today. Boss called a meeting this morning to inform us he died yesterday

Sh1t Jim, that's terrible news.

I'm going to book in and get a heart stress test. Too many people my age are dropping dead. I heard/read something a few weeks back, that the first sign people have heart trouble is when they die. People just go about their normal business and then it's too late. I'm going to get on the front foot and make sure my heart is functioning properly.

Me.

Talking to a chick at work and she says "I haven't sat down to watch a movie for ages"

Me "Do you watch movies standing up?"

I showed myself out.

It's a stressful fast paced environment so laughter is the best medicine IMO.

Yep. The challenge is keeping funny without going too far in the spur of the moment.

Absolutely my friend, I was a hot-headed argumentative larrikin for so long here, it's what held my progress back.

I curbed my enthusiasm some time ago with my work ethic and then with life in general, I haven't had an actual argument with anyone since June 5 2020.

I'm bloody glad I did, it was a sad day yesterday for my kids and I, my step son had his heavenly birthday, it still rips me up inside, he was my mini me as a young fella, he was always by my side and had the hugest of infectious smiles.

Fair to say I gave it a decent nudge yesterday afternoon.

The longest I go without an argument depends on how long I go to sleep for.

Ha, it doesn't mean I don't voice my opinion, people can either take it on board or disagree with me, I'm not going to argue my point and I'm not going to lose any sleep over someone not agreeing with me.

Now we're looking at a pacemaker and stents this afternoon.

Pacemaker went in yesterday afternoon, spoke with him and he was in good spirits. Two stents go in today, should be home in the morning.

Thanks for the wishes and thoughts people.

This one has really knocked me around, much more than the other tragedies in 2022, not really sure why - maybe I just thought Kerls would live forever?

He certainly had that persona.

But at 88, what a fantastic life and influence he had on people, and it seems he went out keeping busy near his beloved home - the way he would have wanted us to remember him.
