Both my kids were cesarean...something about being better than watching your favourite pub burn down.

I watched the whole of my wife's caesarian, including taking photo after photo so my wife could see it afterward, at her request. Was amazing, couldn't stop watching. Different, but amazing all the same.

Bump!

I'm very happy, excited and relieved to announce that my wife is 14 weeks pregnant (15 this Friday). Very happy and excited because we are going to be parents and relieved because we had a bit of a tough time on our journey to become parents.

My wife had a miscarriage in early November and it absolutely broke her. She really wants to be a mum so for that to happen to her was hearbreaking. It was so hard for me to know what to do or what to say when it happened and it left me feeling pretty useless while there were days when she didn't want to do anything because she was so upset, it's one of the saddest things I've experienced.

When she was ready we tried again and just like the first time we had no issues and she got pregnant straight away so that was a huge relief.

Everything is going is well as it should be at the moment.

Hahaha, I don't think Donald will be an option but Ricky isn't a bad option and it's a unisex name. My wife has a list of both boy and girl names, we both don't want really common names or really odd and abstract names.

My youngest daughter was given an Irish name as a show of respect to my partner being from Northern Ireland. The daughters name is Aoife.

It causes all sorts of looks, pronunciations, questions. But we like it

Now that Aoife is 3 and understands abit about her Irish heritage she takes some pride in it.

I'll bite - how does one pronounce that?

I'm guessing Ow-fee.
