That attitude is almost bannable!

Some places have no choice especially pubs owned by groups.
I personally never use the entertainment book or scoopons, would feel scummy if I did.
Just my opinion/feeling, am in no way having a go at those who do and am always very happy to serve those at my pub that use them.
We accept them any days except for the rare occurance there is set menus such as Melbourne Cup, Xmas Day and Mothers Day.
They only get used at our dinners though as our 2 for the price of one lunches save people much more money.

The Seniors' lunch menu at the Hackney Hotel is popular with my mates, and Grays Inn at Mt Barker does a three couse Seniors' dinner for $17.90 that some of my Senior colleages love.

I'm more conscious of my "Senior" status now as I approach my 75th birthday later this month...
(It's a bit of scary thought though I'm in good health and still have plentiful mostly brown hair.)

Cashed in our Holdy scoupon last night, I'can't really do a rating as for $20 for a schnitty, burger, a pint and a red it's not fair on other places, basically bought a drink each and got a meal each for an additional $4.

Got a Southwest & slaw burger, there was 3 little pieces of chicken fillet in it that were slightly overcooked, the chicken schnitty with peppercorn gravy was cooked with panko crumbs and was excellent, both came with heaps of chips but we're not really chip eaters, they were alright though as far as chips go.

Perusing the menu and looking at other guests food that came out we will definitely be back, their parmi's looked huge and well priced, as did most menu items.

We've been trying to eat healthy lately so we basically only went as we'd already paid for it and wanted a night away from cooking.

4 cylinder LOL.

I thought we'd end up in that neck of the woods at some stage but never eventuated only to find out that a horse that I'm in a syndicate in has it's maiden run Saturday week at Morphettville.

Anyway, was good to get out of the house, have a journey on the new T2T and break the cycle, the missus enjoyed it.

Forgot to add, the staff were very friendly, got there at 7:15, left by 7:50 and that was with chucking the $4 I had in my pocket into the pokies and winning $20, got bored so kept it at that.

James Franklin Hotel, Cowell.

Calamari snitty- Unreal how good this was, at only $18 it was golden brown yet the squid was beautiful not chewy one bit. The Mrs had a chicken Parmy (Who eats a Parmy at a sea side town? the mother in law at the special of the day (fish and Chips) which looked great and she loved. The kids had nuggets and chips, we also shared a Medium Garlic Pizza.

4x West End cans, 4x House whites and 2x kids drinks.

$92

Value- 9/10
Food- 9.5/10
Service- 10/10

Young lass behind the bar couldn't be more friendly (well after giving me shit about west end, she even busted out the old Do people still drink that!) she took the kids out the front to see the dog and was fantastic with them

Gee, you must be having a slow boring Friday arvo if 7 is your cut off, search the net and pretend who served him.

Boonys at Port Noarlunga

5 people

Walked in to be greeted by one of the lovely daughters of thebowners "where have you been?, its been so long!" With a big smile, And immediately felt like I was reliving school years being disciplined.... not sure how long its been, but only a few months id say.
But its a family restaurant and they always remember you, which adds to the appeal. The staff are attentive, friendly, service is spot on.

So i shared the seafood platter $60.
Salmon, fish, calamari, garlic prawns, loads of chips and a salad. Its probably my fav item on the menu, and again superb.
SIL - chicken schnit (only ever eats this when going out) with a red wine gravy and loved it.
Mrs got a schnit burger and again no complaints
BIL went the Boony burger, beef burger and enjoyed it.

Not sure the cost all up, i didnt pay and was 9 beers deep....

But I've said it before, and I'll say it again, its a brilliant restaurant. You won't be disappointed
