Walked in to be greeted by one of the lovely daughters of thebowners "where have you been?, its been so long!" With a big smile, And immediately felt like I was reliving school years being disciplined.... not sure how long its been, but only a few months id say.
But its a family restaurant and they always remember you, which adds to the appeal. The staff are attentive, friendly, service is spot on.

So i shared the seafood platter $60.
Salmon, fish, calamari, garlic prawns, loads of chips and a salad. Its probably my fav item on the menu, and again superb.
SIL - chicken schnit (only ever eats this when going out) with a red wine gravy and loved it.
Mrs got a schnit burger and again no complaints
BIL went the Boony burger, beef burger and enjoyed it.

Not sure the cost all up, i didnt pay and was 9 beers deep....

But I've said it before, and I'll say it again, its a brilliant restaurant. You won't be disappointed

If everyone else had a main, I’m curious as to who you “shared” the seafood platter with?
C’mon mate, we’re all friends here... ;)

Grange Jetty Cafe

Been meaning to go this place for years, having heard plenty of reports and finally managed to pop my cherry last Sunday.

A few things fell into place, snagging a park (really close) as someone was leaving, then snagging a pole position table outside as a couple had just finished up.

Sitting on the deck on a nice balmy evening, looking at the Jetty, Water and Sunset was an instant winner.

Mrs chugged down a coupla her favourite Rose's, whilst I just went the Mineral Water option.

So many decent options on the Menu made choosing the right feed a little time consuming, but eventually couldn't go past the flame-grilled 350gm Rib Eye with Garlic Cream, topped with Squid and Prawns, accompanied by Salad and a healthy serve of Chips. The Steak was cooked to perfection and the Seafood was awesome. If I had one slight knock - The Garlic Cream was more like a Butter, and the plate was kinda drowning in it. But I'd still happily order this meal again in a heartbeat!

The missus went the Prawn and Mango Salad, which apparently is her go to meal at this place. As always she loved it!

Cost Came to approx $92:

- Rib Eye surf and turf $35
- Prawn Salad $25
- 2 Wines and large bottle of Sparkling Water $32

In terms of value it's obviously a bit higher than some pubs but would imagine it's the lower end of restaurant scale, and it was certainly restaurant quality food.

Atmosphere and scenery was just magnificent, great place to sit and chill and watch the world go by.

Accessibility would be a concern a lot of the time, because it's fairly popular down there and there is limited parking available - Although the Carpark is right next to the Cafe.

Food: 8.5 (Garlic Butter cost a point)
Atmosphere: 10
Service: 9
Accessibility: 7

Total Rank: 8.625

Burger Club on the main drag at Mawson Lakes shut up shop a little while ago. I went there only occasionally, in part due to the prices.

Noticed today a new joint has opened up in its place, selling burgers ... and pizza and hot dogs. Relish Diner. Just tried it out.

Less burger options on the menu than its predecessor, but more diversity (5-6 10" pizza options, 5-6 hot dogs). Opted for a pulled pork burger and a pepsi max. Would have had sparkling mineral water but it wasn't in stock. Total cost $19-something.

Burger came out in a basket with chips. Burger was small compared with the predecessor. Chips occupied 2/3 of the basket and appear to be included with all meals whereas it was an optional extra at Burger Club. Chips were also slightly too hot to eat immediately.

Bloke across on the next table got a schnitzel burger, and this appeared to be more substantial than the pulled pork burger - at $1 more.

The place is fairly sparsely fitted out. The only exciting scenery was out the window, where a young mum had bent over her pram, offering a reasonable display of norks through the cleavage. Sadly this spectacle was fleeting and ephemeral, and cannot be expected on subsequent visits.

Summary: Burger club was a rare treat; with the increased price and lower quality, Relish Diner is going to be even less frequently patronised by myself. Far better lunch options abound at Mawson Lakes.

NNQ (Woodville Rd)

Having heard so many awesome reports about this place was looking forward to finally sampling for myself.

Venue is decent and it's clearly a popular spot because the joint was packed. We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table to become available which was fine. Our party consisted of 3 adults and 2 kids.

Our waiter was excellent, very helpful and efficient so a great start.

I opted for the Red Chicken and Pork which comes served with rice. The meat was quite tasty, but overall it was a very bland meal (no sauces involved), basically just meat and rice. OK, but nothing special.

The missus went for a Beef Salad which she didn't mind, but there was no orgasmic response so I could tell it was similarly "OK, but nothing special".

Niece went for a Beef Pho, kids went for different chicken dishes. I sampled both the kids meals and the eldest (Lemongrass Chicken) had the best meal on the table imho.

All meals were VERY generous in portion size (filled 3 takeaway containers after we were all done eating) so points for that, but I was probably a little disappointed in the taste stakes. They also came out remarkably quickly from order being placed.

Chuck in 5 drinks to accompany the 5 mains and I thought the $103.50 bill was excellent value for money (even moreso with the missus possessing a $100 voucher).

Atmosphere: 7
Service: 9
Food: 6 (Serving Size the major point earner)
Price: 9

Rating 7.75 (pretty high considering I didn't think much of the taste)

Will be happy enough to go again someday and try something different, but Angkor across the road is miles better in terms of great tasting food and spices etc.

I dont think there's a proper review yet, so I'll do one.

The Port Admiral.

The Spartans had film review upstairs. So before that, we all got there early for dinner and a couple of beers.

On arrival, I was greeted by the part owner, and Spartans Defensive End, who had blocked for me on an interception for a TD (bonus points).

We had 3 tables outside reserved. Jugs of Port Local Lager were promptly brought out. On the house.

We mainly hit up the Monday $10/kg wings deal. Some of the guys took part in the eating challenges.

I got a kg of BBQ wings with blue cheese sauce, and a chips with truck sauce.

A few of the guys swapped tables between ordering and food arriving, which threw out the waitresses a bit, but they handled it well.

My wings were awesome. The chips are some of the best I've had. Both the blue cheese sauce and the truck sauce are on point.

Some of the other dishes people got - Smashed Avo, Kangaroo Tail Ragu.

All meals are restaurant quality. This is not a regular pub.

Upstairs, the brand new area is fantastic. Its only been open a few weeks I think.

Wings - $10
Chips - $8
Beer - Free

Atmosphere: 8 (traffic on the corner can be a bit loud)
Service: 10
Food: 10
Price: 10

Had the pleasure of eating there earlier this year.

The Port Lager is brewed by Pirate Life and very sessionable.

I do agree that they serve up some very very good food, not just the basic pub grub fare.

Booney has organised a table for us SA Footy folk for the TDU event when its at the Port!

Fiery Greek on Beach rd.

Wandered down there tonight to check it out and Mrs Cousin rated it.

Walk up to counter, guy is on the grill and female doing nothing and then finally we get served. Had an issue in paying and the woman walks off mid service.

Just ordered 2 AB, a combo and lamb.

Why is tomato sauce in there??? Honestly??
Meat was cooked fair. Chicken didnt even appear to be real chicken. Meat was pre-cooked and heated up on the grill. It wasnt yiros styled meat or cooked.

Customer Service was a 0.
Food 1/10
Value for money 1 (dog gets leftovers, without leftovers 0) $29.50

Shocking experience.

Avoid avoid avoid

Just 2 AB plates

Greenock tavern

Best chicken wings i have ever had.
entree serve $12, got 8 complete wings and huge too, there was some sort of crunchy coating to go with the sticky marinated flavours, no idea what it was but i know ill be going back for more.

The 500gm porterhouse schnitzel is also not to shabby and the mushroon gravy to die for, using real mushrooms with flavour.

10/10
Those that know me would know a 10/10 rating from me is very hard to come by
