Mrs got a great state voucher and thought we'd travel up and see the great unvaxxed country.

Got a Spa room.
Room itself is fine, Spa is quite comfortable. Could jump into the spa from the bed if so desired...
So we went to the restaurant attached, Angus and Co steakhouse.
Mrs got a call to see if she wanted to book a table for dinner, the last table. So she snapped it up.
The restaurant was probably only 1/4 full

But moving along.

Garlic Bread $8 solid start to the night, well toasted x 3 pieces

Chicken parmigiana $27 - decent sized chook, well salted chips. Salad by all reports was tasty. The parmi had a hint of Cinnamon spice in it.
Got a rating 10/10

I went the crispy skin Salmon on $32, served on a delicious mash with garlic broccolini and a bernaise sauce.
The salmon just melted away. The skin was well salted also. Delicious. Solid effort. 8.5/10.
Washed down courtesy of 2 drink vouchers including a pint of Stella in a chalice.

Then dessert, the Mrs suggests we go and see what else is available in the area.
However it was at that point where I simply had to educate her that we hit the Quinella here with entrees and mains. Time to double down the investment into the dessert.
2 x sticky date puds with icecream $12 were simply divine and what was needed to top off the culinary experience. 10/10

Overall a very pleasant dining experience, even if we were perhaps told a furphy it was a good furphy.

They are hit and miss, the salmon is a treat, lucky you didn't get the bruschetta.

I said to the waiter "Hey fella, how is this bruschetta? It is cold chopped up tomato sitting on toasted bread, it is crap"

His return "Yeah, everyone has said that".

Modbury Plaza Hotel.

Went there with a group of 7 from work last night.

4 of us ordered the scotch fillet, 5 minutes after ordering a waitress comes out and says "sorry, we haven't had scotch fillet for a while, is rump ok?"

That was about the sum of it, it was "OK", infact the only other bloke there with us tried a couple of mouthfuls of it and just couldn't eat it, I'm glad I ordered medium/rare as mine would've been in the same boat, they did offer to replace his meal or not charge for it.

They serve their food on these massive plates and have the salad or veg on an additional rectangular plate, they looked a treat but it was too awkward as their table space is small.

The chicken schnitty and chicken camembert looked good and were by all reports and the place looks a treat but if I have to pay I wouldn't be returning.

5/10

Just recently opened, 10% discount currently off all orders as an opening special
Arguably the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had
Large Special Fried Rice
Honey Chicken
Satay Beef
Prawns with Cashew Nuts
Mongolian Chicken
Singapore Noodles
$70 - will be back.

Came home after a work day in Clare (Lunch at Seed - great spot) and no kids or wife home, so ordered a Chili Basil Chicken, steamed rice and some spring rolls from Sweet Water, bloody superb, thanks for the heads up Spargo, will be back

Belgian Beer Cafe- work Christmas dinner.

Not terrible, but really just an overpriced pub. And really hard work getting a drink with the table service. With the exorbitant prices and company credit card on deck you'd have thought they'd milk it.

5/10

Has been for at least 4 years, well not Woolies, they don't own pubs any more but a part of the ALH/Endeavour group.
I've only been there once and the place was uncomfortably packed, someone I worked with has had a few meals there and raves about the food.
