Passed a taxi this morning with a sticker on the passenger window which read "attention passenger please sit in back".

Has this country finally turned into the 51st state of the USA?

It was an OH&S directive as too many people were standing in the back.

Saw an Uber a few weeks back with one of those small self adhesive No Admittance signs stuck to the front passenger window.
Trust the process.

How do people arrive in Australia whilst Covid +?
Do the airlines not check tests?

What's supposed to happen is you are to supply evidence of a negative test taken within 3 days of the flight's departure for Australia.

About to wind up last night with a couple of quiet reds and then a friend rocks up all upset and armed with a bottle of scotch, it's going to be a long week.

I haven't flown much in the past 18 months but QF never asked to see mine even though had one
$5,000 fine for not checking on a valid visa
Make it $50,000 for Covid and see what happens

Some very good forgeries out there being used. Airlines are hot on the checking but some slip through. Also finding some are testing negative 3 days out but then symptoms develop or they catch it in the following days or even onboard. Would be more prudent for everyone to have the rapid PCR test at the airport the day you fly. Sydney and Melbourne airports do one in the terminal with 90 minutes turnaround guaranteed so you rock up to the airport, have your test and then check in

Yup, testing positive still seems to take 4-7 days (on average) after you were exposed.
All these people that rush out and get tested 1 day after being exposed, get a negative and think they are fine, then run around spreading it like mad!

Seriously this has been a pain in my arse (not Carey related  ) for a while now. I need to get out onto Diagonal road from the side streets probably 5-6 times a week to take kids to their various things, and every c..nt is now banking up on the one street you can exit in front of the library. So you have people wanting to turn left, people wanting to turn left and then straight into the right lane to go into Marion, and the worst people trying to turn right in that spot that f..ks everyone up.

Surely someone at some stage at the council would have said that December wasn't the month to close lanes and do roadworks next the the shopping centre  January would actually be perfect with no school.

Councils don't look after main roads ( in most LGA's ), DPTI do.
