I'm really hoping, that my mum still has a dazzle land token that i kept from when it first opened.

When it first opened as "Myer Dazzleland" (before merging with Downtown and Magic Mountain) they had their own tokens - and the first minted tokens had the work Myer spelt incorrectly on the back of the token, ie MEYR.

I figured that one day they'd be worth a bit but considering the whole place went bust, probably not

Colonel LIght before they shoved him up a hill to point at Adelaide Oval - date unknown but you'd assume early 20's, possible earlier looking at the clothing on the ladies on the left of photo, when did trams start?

Wiki says Adelaide trams started around 1910 or so.

My guess is this photo is from just before or during WW1, because by the 20s I think there would be at least 1 car visible.

Speaking of planes the old plane that used to be out the front of McDonalds at West Lakes.

Image

I like many kids from the area had a birthday party on that plane and I can still remember running through that enclosed walkway from McDonald's to get to the plane.

I love the really old photos too.

Its locked into my brain that the world was in black and white a century ago.

But then I see a 1980s photo in black and white, and it challenges my thinking even more.
