Having just enjoyed the 4-day break over Easter, I reckon another one over the long weekend in October would be good. Move the Jan 26 holiday or the March holiday to the Friday of that weekend.

Celebrate Australia Weekend
Friday: Celebrate Indigenous Australia (The Melbourne AFL GF Parade could become part of this)
Saturday: Celebrate Australian Sport and Recreation (also AFL Grand Final Day)
Sunday: Celebrate Australian Agriculture and Industry
Monday: Celebrate Multicultural Australia and have ceremonies on this day

I haven't changed my Australia Day date since I met the missus....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
