Be at the supermarket at opening time and you'll be bound to get some.

Missus did that this morning and no dice
Know anyone that's an Emergency Services worker? They might be able to go to Coles early on a Tuesday or Thursday.

Na mate. She'll be right, our office only has two people going in daily now and I know its usually well stocked for bog roll so if I get desperate I know where to find some.

Fortunately, I've always kept a spare 12 pack in each bathroom cupboard and managed to pick up another couple of 6 packs at the local Woolworths when the hoarding was just taking off. All the cheap stuff was gone but some 3-ply and 4-ply was still there. After that it may be back to newspaper like in my childhood, thanks to the free local paper...

I have also noticed this. Just about everytime I've looked for dry pasta all the $1-$2 brands are gone but the organic stuff slightly more expensive is still there. Budget savvy Preppers.

I popped into the Romeo's Foodland on O'Connell St, North Adelaide on Tuesday afternoon and the San Remo pasta section couldn't have held any more stock if they tried. There was also 20kg sacks of rice for $27, a shelf full of them and a couple of stacks of 5 or 6 bags in the aisle.

Upper end of the spectrum I guess compared to Romeo's Port Adelaide.

The eventual recovery from the pandemic.

Since I met my new wife in 2014, I've been gradually more and more socially active given she has been on a Theatre board and gets free tickets, and has a collection of socially active siblings. That's why my time on this site has diminished a bit.

At first I enjoyed a bit of a slow down this year, but now that I've caught up with the tasks on my to do list and am getting a bit bored...

A zoom catch up planned for tomorrow night with my Vic teammates form the O50's carnival in Perth last year. We had planned to meet at a pub in town..... but.

Some cracking guys and I am sure there will be a fair bit a sh!t being flung around the room.

One of the lads cops most of it, and takes it in really good spirit..... he was given out LBW 4 times, in 4 games, a few blokes asked why he even bothered taking a bat out with him when he walks out......... I have one set up for him for tomorrow night.

"Het Ritchie, any truth in the rumuor you bought that bat of yours from a wet market in Wuhan"?

Our pubs are open again up here in Darwin (for consumption of alcohol with food)

I'm expecting the streets to be eerily quiet on Sat morning.....

Be like the old days of Sunday nights at Lennies when we'd be given a plate of chicken at the door which was promptly thrown in a bin to meet licencing requirements.

Putting the new smoker together tonight and firing her up for the first time tomorrow.

I've got everything I need I think although I'm not sure whether to get more charcoal or settle for what I have, I have heat beads in case of emergency.

Beers, CC's and the racing on for the day.

I prefer heat beads mate, they burn slower and more predictable, charcoal burns hotter and faster, harder to regulate if you're looking for low'n'slow while learning the smoker and particularly if you're thinking of a 6-8 hour cook.

Have you got a good thermometer with probe?

Thank you, after I wrote that a mate and I were chatting about it and he said the same if I'm using the offset smoker and not putting heat in the main section.

Make sure you season the smoker well, I gave mine a real good spray with Canola Oil, left it for an hour or so then got it fired up for about 2 hours, gave me a good chance to see how many heat beads got me to what temperature and for how long.
