After struggling to get my sorry arse out of bed by 7 each morning a month ago I now look forward to jumping out of bed at 5am to head to the gym, I'm feeling much better for it, arms get a bit sore and legs feel like jelly for a couple of hours but getting used of it.

It's great once you're in the routine. Starting the routine is the hardest part.

Shit yeah, good getting home for a coffee, juice and a couple of poached eggs after it, then still getting to work earlier than I was.

My son is doing boxing now, on top of his cricket, footy and volleyball, it's got me wanting to get back into it, I need a bit of conditioning first though.

I've been meaning to start again. Did a big push from Jan-May 2017. 4 nights a week, 2 hour sessions. Got heaps stronger. Looked better.

Once I'd stopped, it only took a few weeks to go back to my dad bod.

Now I'm looking at going on the way to work. But just thinking about 5am gym, 8-5pm work, 6pm-9.30pm football twice a week is holding me back.

I'll probably do gym on the non-football days, but that make every day of the week a long one.

See how we go.

It's all about having a routine and being consistent with it. Too many guys slack off. It's hard for me to understand why guys find it hard and slack off because I've had my routine for so long now and simply couldn't live my life if I didn't go to the gym and go to training. It becomes apart of your lifestyle and you have to be self motivated.

Yeah, I'm hearing you, I get stuck between losing weight and building up a little, I need to find the right balance of exercises, trying to get to the gym every morning, do some running when I get home and some weights after dinner, a bit too easy to crack open a beer or pour a CC's though after dinner so we're both right on to it now.

There's two of us and we've set some goals together so that helps our motivation to get up early and just do it, plus if we're sitting around in the evening doing f-all we'll now go again or find an alternative.

That's what killed me last year. My mate had to stop due to work, so I couldn't motivate myself to go alone. Partly because the gym was the opposite direction from work to my house.

Locations the key. I'll probably join Goodlife and go to the Albert Park one.

Yeah when I was going I was paying $13.00/week for 8-10 hours. Pretty good value. And it was empty most of the time.
