Yes, and yet, you find on twitter etc. some people at state schools venting their disappointment, thinking that all private schools have shut down but that the government has abandoned state schools. We are all in this together (well, I guess I am not, not until my test results, anyway :( ). Keep up the great work, fellow teachers.
Oh, btw, haven't really been slacking off - have 47 assignments to draft today!

Cheers

Is that 6% up from yesterday?

Think we were around the 44.7% mark absent yesterday, so nearly a 7% increase.

The government won’t need to make a decision coz at this rate the schools will need to shut themselves down.

Similar numbers where my mrs is an SSO. Do you think PS attendance is lower than High Schools?
Every person i know in DECS think they should close, just typical teachers Pag? ;)

Not sure exactly on the breakdown of numbers across our year levels from R-12.

If every person in DECD is like me, they're working in a confined space with 15-20 other humans that have little self-hygiene, little-no concept of personal space or social distancing, and with no hand sanitiser available. I'm not surprised they think they should close. ;)

I'm in the department's head office, plenty of room, soap and hand sanitiser here ;) In all likelihood will be working from home shortly however.

However I have empathy as my wife is a public school primary school teacher, who isn't rapt about working currently. Her school had to close half the toilets as they had run out of soap. Approx 50% of her year 3 students are attending currently.

Teacher of my eldest lad (grade 6) sent today’s problem out via Seesaw .. Was sent to 15 of kids (or their parents moreso), so that would mean %56 of his class are absent.

I was sitting in a police car giving a witness statement to a DV incident that I intervened in with a cricket bat slung over my shoulder and heard a COVID-19 response over the radio (they have a taskforce that publicly monitors those who test positive). Sounded like one of the positive cases was wandering around Tea Tree Plaza instead of being in isolation  WHEN WILL PEOPLE LEARN!

So this is ScoMo's fault how?

Just messing with you..... we may get the governments we deserve at times, but there is no doubt, society in general is its own worst enemy.
