You can have the most clear directives and best policies in the world

No one can govern against morons. This wont go away for a while because 30% of the population are morons who refuse to listen or believe

But did you have a cricket bat?

He’d be a twin scoop grey Nic for sure.

You need to start having someone film these things so that the rest of us can enjoy the show.

Bonus points if the camera person is also the recipient. "Just hold this phone for a second" Boom.

If I said he was shitting himself it would be an understatement.

any toilet paper at hand?

Take Boris' speech for example - clear and direct. Ardern's approach - clear and direct.

Yeah fair enough, but I also wonder how people would've reacted if he came out two weeks ago and ruled with an iron fist.

Seems to me people will whinge, complain, nit pick anything and everything regardless.

Sure.

I reckon Boris is a nitwit, but he nailed his presser last night and the directive is clear:

The government guidance says people should only leave home for one of four reasons:

-Shopping for basic necessities such as food and medicine. Shopping trips should be as infrequent as possible
-One form of exercise a day such as a run, walk, or cycle. This should be done alone or only with people you live with
-Any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person. This includes moving children under the age of 18 between their parents' homes, where applicable. Key workers or those with children identified as vulnerable can continue to take their children to school
-Travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home

Even when following the above guidance, people should minimise the amount of time spent out of their homes and should keep two metres (6ft) away from people they do not live with.

Yep, Boris was awesome last night.
Unlike Trump, who in the grab I saw said he was looking at re-opening some restrictions because he didn't want the US to be any further crippled financially. Now to be fair, this was only a small grab and not his whole press conference

That coupled with a similar percentage of the population (which overlaps and includes the moron %) who seem to take it as a personal challenge to immediately try and find a way to circumvent a rule / directive from anyone the moment it is delivered.

ie when border restrictions were announced, the nuffties sharing all of the dirt / back road options to get around it so they can happily continue their travels on the highway

I feel for the people who have lost their jobs. Mine is on the chopping block and certainly won't be around if this continues, but some (it's hard not to say most) people will whinge about being even slightly inconvenienced.

On my ride home last night I saw a group of 6 men having a few drinks in the park. Wouldn't have a problem with it, but they were sitting right next to each other in a ******* circle...they may as well hold hands and kiss.

Would think a rent and mortgage freeze for at least 2 months would be the next thing the government delivers

Common sense.

Common sense can be a dangerous thing when not all people have it.

I always cringe when somebody says "it's common sense'. That went out the door long ago. People need to be told.

Virgin Australia has just pretty much halted domestic travel until June. Have just been told be a few that I work with that they will keep their jobs on reduced hours but 80% of employees temporarily stood down and 90% of their fleet parked within only about a dozen or so aircraft still being used for freight and essential services

Got an 11 o'clock assessment for my 94 yo live at home Mother today, hopefully the assessor goes by the guidelines, my brother & me have to be there as well.
Sketchy one tomorrow, couple at Golden Grove have been waiting on materials so we're headed up there. The lady of the house left on a cruise Friday week back & was turned back after a week so her & her husband are locked inside while we finish the job, obviously outside.
Sons working on the W&C renos & looks like their shutting down next week, just too many on site & lifts are full as much of the work is multi level.
