Only Qantas.
Most flights currently are regional passenger flights or freight flights. Very few passengers from interstate

Has the option been explored to use passenger planes as freight planes internationally rather than have them grounded. I know the parts we get from UK usually get put on passenger planes however now we are facing increased costs and delays getting them in the country.
Yes and they are doing it now. Most big airlines have large freight only aircraft already but there is scope to convert more passenger aircrafts into freight only. Just depends on the freight demand

Yep I know StarTrack have a contract with Qantas, so our freight continues to move.

Ricciardo's comments come after revelations Red Bull Racing boss Helmut Marko wanted to deliberately infect his drivers with COVID-19 while there were no races being held.
Are people in positions of power that dumb/greedy?
Well yes they are!

I'm glad I don't deal with it directly. Freight forwarders will be earning their coin at the minute trying to find the best passage into the country for their customers.

I think AP and the other larger freight companies will use this as a chance to wipe out some of their smaller competitors

So contacted my mate who worked as a baggage handler at QANTAS, make sure he was ok.. he was saying still waiting to be contacted from SA Health with info on how to proceed with a test, but he said the dude who first tested positive apparently reported symptoms for 3 days before they actually tested him.. WTF!?!

My mate was laid off last week.

The bloke who was sick apparently did take sick leave but reported symptoms each day but it took until the 4th to actually test him.

I’m shocked and stunned that an industry so important like airlines wouldn’t test workers at any sign.. if they’re waiting a few days before actually taking action it makes me wonder how many have been affected and don’t know.

Jim might be able to confirm, I’m just relaying info.

In amongst all the craziness that has been 2020 to date, from a work perspective - the month of March shows my best figures for the year!

While January was an OK month, its way below Jan 2019, which was my best EVER month. Feb was down, but only 5% or so.

This despite knowing that customers in Pakistan & Sri Lanka are in total lockdown, with no sign of when it is relaxed and Bangladesh in lockdown until April 5th.

NZ customers battling on a bit like us from what I can gather.

My take is when all this S.H.I.T calms down, we will be going "stonkers" in an effort to catch up.

How are you other blokes seeing business for the year to date?
