I don't have a computer at home, I sit at one all day, I don't want to do it at night.

Boss has been and got me a laptop, IT guy in Melbourne is setting it up so I can get on the server now, we're thinking one of us stays home to avoid any issues and if the other one gets it we can tag in.

My company has just issued out laptops to key personnel in each field as a precaution.

I've worked at home for the best part of 4 years. Nothing changing for me, especially now as I hardly travel.

Will be interesting when they close the schools though. Not sure I can work and wrangle Mr 9 and Miss 6 all that effectively whilst in meetings etc...

Sadly today we resigned ourselves to the fact our 300 day countdown for a trip of a lifetime will not happen.

Kids we’re pretty devastated as you could imagine but probably not as much as myself. Genuinely feel like I’m in a bad dream, can barely feel my legs and 400 thoughts a second going through your head. Seeing your child curled up into a ball crying their eyes out because of something you had made them excited for is gut wrenching to see.

Life has a funny way of seeing what we are made of.

Guess I’ll have to work up the energy, motivation and mind frame to get up at 4:40am each day for work.

I know how long you've been organising this trip to make it magical for the kids so it would be even harder for you to tell them that it has to be delayed

Thankfully you'll find that most places now will give you credits to travel later down the track.

Feel free to hit me up if you need to change your travel dates so you don't lose your insurance.

Chin up - it'll happen one day, although not as soon as you'd hoped

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

Went through so many hoops, bit my tongue at the right times and now feel like I’ve broken the biggest promise I ever made

I know I will bounce back just going through the real down period at the moment as the reality has set in

I’d be very surprised.
They will slash frequencies and some routes but doubt the whole system would be shut down

Really sorry to hear that, mate, you really were looking forward to this trip, and the kids must be devastated, poor buggers.

But as FC rightly says, you'll get the chance later on when things have calmed down. It might be hard to appreciate now, but the fact is it's only been postponed, not cancelled.

I know this is about as likely as me winning Miss Universe, but you know what needs to happen>

All world leaders need to just shut down the world for 4-5 weeks.

Everything, except emergency services, military (to help enforce) and supermarket staff to process online orders only (no stores open)

Just shut it down and after the 4-5 week period is over and it's all gone, go back to business as usual

How are the supermarkets going to get their food and supplies? Amazon drones?

South Australia has an opportunity to highly mitigate the spread by ceasing domestic flights from the Eastern States and putting in some strict social distancing measures.

I have a buck show in Adelaide this weekend. Hope they don't shut down the Casino or Crazy Horse.

You jest, but an effective response would be to close restaurants, cafes and bars etc. for a couple of weeks.
