Can still drink as much as you want during this, so alcohol cant be the reason

For me, it's getting back to normality which often involves going to my local and catching up with friends and acquaintances and enjoying my time there. I'm not that much of a fan of sitting home doing **** all so I apologise if that offends anyone.

So why can't you do all of the above at the moment (without going to the pub)?

Me thinks theres a lot of mis information going on.

My brother brought it back from OS. He was #14 in SA
SA Health sent martians to arrest him and made him spend 2 days in RAH
Sent him home in a taxi. Apparently the driver was trying to do 100 kms / hr up North Tce to get rid of him ASAP
He was fine - just isolated for a month

95% of the population who are unfortunate to get the WU HU FLU have only mild symptoms and recover.

So ya all tell me next cupla of years if we get say another INFLUENZA A or B do/will we use the same policy and protocols as the WU HU FLU ie social distancing isolation and keeping a world tally of deaths ???????

What is your definition of "flatten the curve"?

I always thought of it as stopping the increase in new cases per day.

Image

America has done this.

April 16th they hit a mammoth 4928 deaths.
April 18th 3770
April 22nd 2524
April 26th 2172
April 29th 2110

They clearly still have a substantial number of people falling off the perch each day, but to suggest they haven't stopped the exponential growth of the peak is inaccurate IMO.

NB: Obviously if your definition is to get within the capacity of the existing health system, then they'll never manage that as their existing health system was already cooked.

I had one of those on my back the other day

My liver is loving me atm, I'm just hoping that footy and pubs re-commence on the same weekend as I'm getting used of not pubbing it.

Why the rush? Its a nice to have, not a need to have IMO.

Strongly disagree.

Me too.
There are some older people out there who treat their local and the people in it as family.
Not sure what they are doing during lockdown but I hope they see it through and can attend the pub shortly for a catchup.

There’s one old bloke I chat too who has no family(well none he speaks of or too) that I fear for.
I have no idea where he lives or even his name as I only know him by his nickname, so I can’t even drop by to say g’day.

The pub is more than a place to just get tanked.

That my friend is an excellent point.

I've well documented about ol' Bazz from my local, pretty sure the pub closing was the death of him in more ways than one.
