I did it to a supervisor at work when I was a young lad, he was strutting around like he was King Dick and I said "Hey Seaweed, can you hold this for me?" and threw it to him, it landed on the front of his shirt and he ran backwards for about 10 metres trying to flick it off, it's legs hung out the side of my hand as I picked it up.

I had the shittest manual job for the next 3 weeks after that but totally worth it.

For the record @Bum Crack, it was Dogleg.

The man in his 70's arrived from overseas on the 20th March from the UK.

Was not infectious on the flight, quarantined and on 24th March noticed he had limited sense of smell and taste.

At the time SA Health was not messaging about coming forward if you have those symptoms.

He's been tested on the 6th May and has come back positive. He's immigrating to Australia, knows very few people and has remained very much isolated since his arrival. Only has had 5 close contacts, they have no symptoms, they are in quarantine and are awaiting test results.

Why is it 6 weeks later that he's still positive? The virus can still "shed" after that period of time but is no longer considered a viable virus. Around day 8 of incubation studies have been able to grow culture from the positive test. After that period the risk of transmission is very low even if you have the virus.

Why was he allowed to come here?

He quarantined as all arrivals did at that point.

Was he tested as all arrivals are?

Still something that irks me, it was non essential travel during a pandemic.

I dare say he's contracted it here and it's a coincidence the symptoms that happened 24th March.
If not and its lingering for 6 weeks we are all doomed.

We closed the gate at 9pm on 20th March.

Either he arrived before that time or if he is immigrating he has a residency visa and could come in anyway.

Doubt it, unless the 5 people he's been in contact test positive and they've got evidence of community transmissions.

Either way we'll see numbers go up when we ease restrictions, they have to, it's just now we've got a bed in hospital for you that we didn't before.

If we get another few days of duck eggs after this then it confirms it was a very isolated case so surely it wont impact.

Prof Spurrier =P~ noted that virus can still "shed" after this period of time but it seems the virus is viable ( growing/alive ) for around 8 days after getting symptoms. They're still learning about this thing every day.

Something doesn’t add up IMO.
Surely in quarantine they are tested on arrival and before leaving?
He arrived on the 20th so would’ve left quarantine on the 4th of May yet the next day he takes a test????

You're missing April.
