In 2019 the average life expectancy of humans WORLD WIDE was 72.6 years. WORLD WIDE.

That's higher than the average life expectancy of ANY NATION ON EARTH in 1950. ANY ONE NATION.

People are living longer healthier lives because of medical advances, because of vaccines.

This f*ck wit has been punched in the head too many times.

ive seen that and worse kicking around on facebook (i follow someone who debunks a lot of that stuff so they post a fair few links)

its 5g killing people

the virus is just an excuse to develop a mass vaccine that can control us

as above but the vaccine can even remotely kill people if needed...

it was deliberately released by china/various other countries because of "protests" (not quite sure how infecting people in mainland china stops protests in hong kong or wherever though...)

apparently it can be cured purely by vitamin c (apparently so can measels too...)

there are certainly some whackos out there :(

Not surprising.

However, coronavirus conspiracy nonsense isn't just for punch-drunk illiterates. Bronwyn Bishop (remember her, the former speaker who chartered a helicopter to take an 80-kilometre flight for a Liberal Party function, and tried to justify it?) told Paul Murray on Sky a few nights back she believes coronavirus is a Chinese biological weapon to “get rid of non productive Chinese”, export the virus to the US, and send the world economy into recession.

#STAYWANK.

There aren't any non productive Chinese. They wouldn't dare.

Wow! In Melbourne for the day planning a trip to London next week. Going back to Adelaide for a weekend at Carrickalinga with Mrs Jimmy

I just got an email that all company travel is banned from midnight!!

Holy $hit Batman! Am I going to be stuck in Carrickalinga for the next month!

(Lucky I got out of Melbourne. I couldn’t think of anything worse than getting stuck here!)

Article in the HS by Robbo (yes I know) that the start of the AFL season is in jeopardy.
I have heard a rumour through work aswell that the season may be postponed until round 5 and this came from a party that has a lot of investment in the AFL

Isn't money renowned as being the biggest transporters of illness, viruses, diseases. Why dont we make all businesses that can take eftpos payments only and in particular pay wave only!

Wouldn't that have a bigger effect than some of these other 'solutions'

People would still need to punch in PIN numbers for purchases > $100

Very true but if we were serious it would take 2 seconds to wipe down an eftpos machine. Money never gets cleaned.

And the slight issue that money doesn't transmit viruses people do. Money doesn't have the moisture or temperature.
I was crook all the time when I worked in an office , got crook most times on long haul flights back into the country too, haven't been sick once in over 2 years working in hospitality where I've handled hundreds of thousands of dollars.
People, travel and recycled air is an issue. Money isn't an issue in the slightest when it comes to a virus like this.

I’m not sure about that Wedgie. Someone sneezes or wipes their nose and then handles money? I think the germs last 10 minutes. Mind you; that’s not just money, but it probably gets transferred more than anything else. I mostly phone tap these days anyway.

A virus would last less than seconds without the right humidity and temperature.
But yes I agree if someone sneezed on a 20 dollar note and I immediately put it in my mouth within .1 of a second it might be an issue.
I think the fact you'd be approximately 10 million more likely to catch it through germs in the air transmitted by a human is an issue.

My goodness, Facebook and stupidity has a lot to answer to.

The opposite actuallly! I was pissed heaps as an office worker after some big lunches but I've never touched booze when working in hospitality.

Your own link backs up my point:

"It's possible to catch the flu or a cold after handling an object an infected person sneezed or coughed on a few moments ago. But personal contact with an infected person — such as a handshake or breathing in droplets from a cough or sneeze — is the most common way these viruses spread."

And from the WHO:
"Despite reports that the World Health Organization was pushing people to use contactless payments, a spokesperson for the WHO tells it has not issued any warnings or statements about the use of cash. "

PS Rest assured plastic money is safer than paper based money, lets all praise the lord our government had some foresight! ;)

To a degree, but also my point, as you have highlighted, that the virus can survive on any surface longer than seconds.

"It's possible to catch the flu or a cold after handling an object an infected person sneezed or coughed on a few moments ago.

It depends on the surface. And you don’t have to stick it in your mouth within .1 of a second to catch it as you said.

Everyone’s mobile phone is one of the worst germ carriers (& not just this virus)
We’ve been told to clean them every hour or more.

The McLaren crew member that was in isolation has tested positive and they have now pulled out of the GP.
Very likely the event will be cancelled now
