Macca's, HJ's or KFC

Postby JK » Tue Feb 16, 2021 10:23 am

I know we've done similar before, but figure we have a different demographic these days .. After spending Sat night drinking and talking shit with nieces and nephews and their younger friends, debate raged over which was the most popular of these 3 options. Vote away folks.

Hungover next day eats - KFC

Pissed and hungry - Jacks

Breakfast only - Maccas

KFC is the only one of the three that I crave from time to time.

Not that I can eat any of it now but used to go to HJ's only because of their voucher deals although a Macca's quarter pounder is probably my favourite fast food chain hamburger.

I'm more inclined to go to KFC for a zinger burger or wicked wings though on an even playing field and I feel a need for something unhealthy to eat.

So yeah, I ticked KFC.

I don't like how they don't peel their spuds for their chips, their burgers are better than the other though, the price is reflective.

Doesn't affect the taste though. Onion rings are good too.

Price probably reflects that the production line is a bit old fashioned and very hands on.

As a father of 2 teenagers KFC is easily the most popular with the youngsters these days, pretty amazing considering they were well behind the others a few years back, not sure if it has been the marketing or that some of their food doesn't actually taste like junk food.

Try to avoid all 3 whenever possible.

1. KFC
2. Hungry Jacks

Never Macca's -got very ill after eating a breakfast there about 8 years ago, and have never eaten there since.

It all tastes like junk but I reckon KFC's meals offer better value and you feel like you've had a feed. Eat a Whopper meal and you're up for another in 45 minutes.

KFC for a 'cheat' family meal. Prob the best actual food out of the 3.
HJs for on the run- after junior sports etc (Go the Shake and win)
Maccas for a frozen drink, decent deal on the app or at 3am blind as a bat (Have been known to run orders $25 plus in that state)

Common feeling- regret after eating any of the above :)

I think their prices have remained the same where the others have increased, the introduction of their snack meals and a greater variety has probably helped.

10-15 years ago KFC was only on payday or after a win on the nags, their deals are quite good nowadays, I tend to get the 15 wicked wings, teamed up with a $2 large chips two of you can have a feed for under $15 and have some leftover for later.

On a side note, if you fill out the 2 minute survey as per the receipt, you get free chips next time you visit.
