I know we've had our diferences in the past Wedgie but generally I'm just extracting the urine. This time it's different and I cannot allow the comment above to go by without registering my disgust.

If any members of the Broadbridge family do happen to read this forum I'd like to apologise for the comment above.

Fair enough mate, bringing up an issue that has occurred in the past certainly doesn't offend me but I'll put it to the rest of the mods and see if they deem it as inappropriate.

Does this mean that you are not allowed to refer to Tsunamis, Earthquakes, car crashes, bushfires, cancer, old age, suicide, choking on your own vomit, stingrays, jumping in front of trains, driving under the back of a semi-trailer, etc., etc., etc?

Who knows mate, personally Im sick of the politically correct.

None of the other mods that have been online today have found it offensive either. I even asked a social worker walking past at work and she couldn't find a problem with it! Surely that puts it to bed? :D

I doubt it. PC warriors are like dogs with a bone. Aside from that, it was factual as Motlop was recruited as a result of Broadbridges death! Crikey!

Youre reading way too much into that TW. Wedgie's comment in no way degrades Broadbridge or makes fun of his misfortune.

Exactly.

My concern was not with the reference to the natural disaster but to the inference that North's recruiting was more important than a South Australian footballer dying. If anyone made similar jokes about the Sari Club I'd expect them to be howled down.

And if it's considered PC to have some empathy for people who pass away in their twenties, or their families, then call me PC as much as you like.

Well there you go, you assesment of my so called inference was completely wrong.
Perhaps you should PM people and ask them what they meant if its not clear enough for you before going off on your PC mission?

My only inference was that anything can happen (and has happened) in regard to recruiting players and noone should be counting their chickens before they hatched (hence why it was on the 2007 Ins and Outs thread) if I wanted to create jokes about a natural disaster I'd make it clear and I'd make it in the General Discussion Board. I think everyone but you has seen this.

I just hope you made a genuine mistake and weren't trying to "point score" against me using a disaster such as happened to do it as that would be more disgusting than any inference you made. I give you the benefit of the doubt though and accept it as a genuine mistake on your behalf.

Two things.

Even with a significant amount of material to choose from this is by some considerable distance the most self aggrandising and self serving statement you have ever made.

Don't flatter yourself that I try and point score against you.

I didn't mate, I thought I made it quite clear in my last post that I gave you the benefit of the doubt in that it was a genuine mistake.

I don't even know what aggrandising means and can't be bothered looking it up but I hope its good! (Firefox spellcheck doesn't recognise it)

Play on mate, Im glad we cleared it all up anyway.

re: freedom of speech/one of life's many hypocrisies....
Why is it considered "comedy", when Sascha Barohn Cohen (spelling) derides the Kazhk's, yet if anybody makes comedy of the Jews, it is considered "anti-sematic"!
Which is a load of bollocks anyrate, as to be "anti-sematic", is to be "anti-religion", not "anti-jewish"....
