THEY STOLE MY CAR *&^$#%^&)(^&#@!^$*&%#

WEDNESDAY 29/11/06
--------------------------
Thursday morning the Mrs. went outside and my Ford was missing.
We reported it to the police, and quite understandably were dissapointed.
Having your car stolen from your driveway is an eerie experience, an invasion
of privacy, and the despair of losing.
FRIDAY 01/12/06
--------------------
Mrs spotted the car on the way to work and reported the findings to the police.
Police met us late afternoon as we picked up the vehicle from a street in Ingle Farm.
The Ford was driveable, but side mirror was damaged, side mirror was missing, the
drivers side panel was side swiped, there was other panel damage, the wheel alignment
was severley damaged, the suspension is proppy, and the car cuts out at times
on acceleration, and there was contents missing as well.
Our insurance company were inquisitive as to how we located the vehicle and I must
say were quite discerning in handling the matter.
We were left with the feeling of mistrust, as if we were doing a con job.
We were contacted on numerous occasions by the insurance company for versions
of events[to see if our original story had changed?]
On advice we were instructed not to drive the vehicle and to take it to a predetermined
approved crash repairer.
TUESDAY O5/12/06
------------------------
We took the Ford to the crash repairer who quoted a possible write off and because the
Ford was in a fair condition, the true value of the vehicle may be only about $1,000
to $1500, the market value for a 96 Falcon on LPG is about $4,000.
Being an ex taxi and having clocked mileage close to 6,000,000 kms was the reason.
The excess is $300 the repairer took photos of the Ford to send off to the Insurance company.
There is a distinct possibilty the Insurance Company may only pay salvage value.
We were allowed to take the Ford home.
WEDNESDAY 06/12/06
----------------------------
The insurance company rang the Mrs and we told them what happened, they were not impressed that we took the vehicle home without a mechanical assessment, and fair enough, but we were instructed to take the vehicle home by thier crash repairer.
By this time we built up some frustration at the process, innocent people being mildly interogated by an insensitive Insurance company.
We are the victims, we gotta go through the bullshit process we are incapacitated by a lack of a second vehicle, we are pissed off and inconvienced.
I went to bed at 1-15 tonight[actually Thursday morning] and got to sleep, and you would not believe it but there was a knock on the door and the Mrs answered at 2-00 oclock.
It was the police who wanted to know if I was home, we thought what the hell has happened ?
POLICEMAN:" We have located a Ford vehicle in your name at Ingle Farm."
We thought what the f..k is going on ?
You guessed it the car was stolen for a second time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We looked in our driveway and yes it was gone.
A person rang the police complaining of a car doing burn outs in the area, the police we assume must have been in the vicinity as the thiefs abandoned the vehicle.
I caught a cab to go 3kms [cost $7-60] geez expensive little ride and the driver was pissed off at a short fair *&^%$*&^$$#, and just for the record didnt know the street and did not speak english very well at all !
This time the burnt rubber stench of the vehicle, the transmission is revving, and the car was wobbly and hmn I think it might be write off material.
Ohh well when I ring up the insurance company they will have to believe it was stolen this time!
So right now deep in the early morning I have left the outside lights on and will stay up all night
as I have security concerns for the family.
Footnote: I had a car pinched at the dogs about 6 years ago, when I retrieved the vehicle at Mansfield Park the next day, a lady came out and gave me a description of the thief and the address of the culprit.
It was a young teen indigenous boy, the cops on reporting him at the station said because of who it was + the age that it was a waste of time of persuing the thief......
A couple of days later an insurance rep interviewed me at home and said I should put an immobiliser in the car [about $200 ?]
I said if they paid It would be saving the company money.....
The rep suggested I disconnect my distributor every evening.......
I suggested they go to the boys home and get reimbursement....
The rep said its a waste of time because the boy was ......
In disgust I terminated the interview and asked the rep to leave the premises....
The boy gets off scott free and Im left with the problem......
Moral of the story as usual innocent people get screwed by insurance companys
Only dishonest low moraled people make money from insurance scams.
In this case I have been quite civil about matters, Im afraid tomorrow I wont be.
