Why doesn't TransportSA have a site like this?

http://www.transperth.wa.gov.au/

This site is bloody brilliant and works perfectly.

Co-ordinates all the travel for you, train, tram, ferry in one response.

Transport SA hasn't existed for over 12 months, with a cabinet reshuffle they changed the name to one that is easy to remember, and just rolls off the tongue :? Department for Transport, Energy & Infrastructure.

Speaking for myself, I'm not a huge fan of the TransPerth website. I guess it depends on what you want. To plan journey's it's OK, but if you want to just find a timetable it's a pain in the rear. The Metlink site is similar.

Interesting way to look at transport ...

The reason why transadelaide doesn't have a site like that is because the web developer is still waiting for the bus.

Public transport is for losers.

Public transport doesn't suit me, it would turn a 10-15 min trip into a 1 hr trip with a 10 min walk at the end. But if worked in the city, I would rather spend 15 min on a bus and not have to worry about car parking costs, fuel etc. Would using that convenience make me a loser?
Your probably one of those people that wont use it, but winges about the traffic during peak hour, when 1/2 of those drivers/passengers could be off the road and in a bus freeing up the roads for those of us who haven't got access to direct bus/train routes

Why?

Driving to work would take me up to an hour.

Catching the train admittedly takes more than an hour, but does allow me to relax with a book and a take-away coffee from the train station.

A loser I might be, but a loser who is well-rested, well-read and well-caffeinated.

Loser ?
Haha.

As much as I don't agree with the advertising that means you can take a holiday to some exotic island if you take public transport (unless you take a bus to the bank, and rob it) - there are huge advantages of it.

I have caught the bus to work for years. For me, it's quicker than driving (going from Modbury Interchange to the city).
Relax, read, look, think.... and not worry about dicks changing lanes in front of you.

Mind you, for the last 4 months I've driven to work (in the city). But, this is mainly because my missus got a job in Brompton and has free parking, and busses to there would suck.

So she drops me off, and drives an extra 10 minutes to her work - then picks me up in the afternoon.

Mind you, I don't want to go back to the bus when our first comes long in April.... my bus (the 544) is not he M44 and goes from MARION.

Sods.

PF must be of those 'winners' who drive past bus stops and yell out 'get a car' at old nanas...

LOL

Even at 3:30am it's like shootin' fish in a barrel. Me missus catches a bus everyday to work. I used to catch one to school everyday for 4 years. My first 2 years of my working life, I had to catch 2 buses. Now I'm lucky that it is a 10 minute drive at 1/4 to 4 to get to work.

Congratulations on a fine troll. I guess your impersonation of an idiot was absolutely first rate. Well done old man.
