Has anyone bought or acquired a new car (either a personal car or company car) in recent times?

I thought it would be interesting to hear people’s opinions of their new cars e.g. the way they drive, performance, handling, comfort etc.

In July this year I bought a new Ford Focus Zetec, 5-speed manual.

My comments on this car are as follows:

Pros: Precise handling and steering, lovely manual gearbox, terrific fuel economy for a 107kw engine (only uses 8.8l/100km in stop-start city traffic), nice styling, firm yet comfortable seats.

Cons: Build quality blemishes, lack of torque below 2000rpm (often needing 1st rather than 2nd gear!!!!), hatch door goes up too high (almost touching my carport roof !!!)

Agreed, IM in the market too.
Looking at a small car (Focus XR5 or Lander) or a bigger car (Aurion or Falcon XR6).
Saw a brand new Commodore SS today and it looked awesome, only bad point was the grill and the huge lion on the front but I assume they do that to try and stop people thinking it looks like an XR6.

Make sure you test drive the XR5 turbo before you make your final choice Wedgie.

By all reports it is a sensational car if you love to drive (not just point) cars. I'd have gone the XR5 but my budget didn't quite extend that far

But, if you have a family to think about the Aurion is probably the sensible choice!

not going for the mazda 6 wedge.... if ur looking smaller dont forget mazda 3 or mazda 3 mps......
