Went there the other night, & drank their "PDA" (I assume that stood for Port Dock Ale).
Also on tap, where 3 or 4 others.
Ginga, which is a Ginger Beer 3%.

Right in the heart of Tigerland... eh Punk?
Then there's always The Old Lion in North Adelaide.

The Grand Hotel in Mildura has its own brewery. Sampled their finest on Wednesday night, very noice! (for Victorians)

Grumpys at Hahndorf brew their own beer, very nice
and do a damn fine pizza

Port Dock Ale
Our most popular ale, with sparkling golden hue. A refreshing and quenching ale, suitable for year round drinking, and the perfect accompaniment to our extensive menu. It always hits the spot.

Black Diamond Bitter
A traditional English style bitter, with a hefty smack of East Kent Goldings hops, and a nutty palate. As authentic as they come, you won't find a better bitter this side of the equator. This one's for those who enjoy the aroma and robust happiness reminiscent of the southern counties of England.

Black Bart Stout - 3 gold medals, champion stout
Although smooth and subtle, the sweet maltiness and roasty flavours of this authentic milk stout are very wholesome. A giving and sustaining drink, it will bolster the constitution of the seediest sailor. Said by some to be an aphrodisiac and found to be enjoyable with a dozen fresh oysters, unwrap its dark treasures today.

Old Preacher - silver medal, bronze medal
A strong ale to reflect the strong character of Reverend J Kirby, a temperance crusader in this district in the early 1900's. It has a rich ruby red complexion, a creamy head and enough spirit to warm the soul. This strong ale is definitely to be imbibed with caution.

Ginja - 2 bronze medals
South Australia's first true brewed alcoholic ginger ale with a generous ginger flavour and premium Cascade hops. This ale offers excellent year round drinking. For the ultimate thirst quencher, serve poured over ice. For the adventurous patron serve with Bundaberg Rum ("Stormy Seas") or serve with Scotch Whiskey ("The Ol' Mac").

Powerz Premium
A traditional european lager using imported Saaz hops, this pilsener is fermented at 11C using specialty lager yeast. After fermentation the beer is stored at -1C for a further 3 months. The lager is bright golden in colour and has a distinct floral aroma and a lingering dry finish. Perfect served with our Salt & Pepper Squid.

A couple of years ago we went up to the wine region on the VIC/NSW border and stayed in Rutherglen, in the town they have a Brewery which you can go and taste test!!! Its just like a winery except for beer....loved it, from memory they have a Dark Ale, Lager, Pale and Draught...if you are ever up there I highly recommend it...

a mate of mine is a master brewer. He did a degree in chemical engineering and then went and worked at some German brew houses and did some brewing courses which were all conducted in German.

When he came back in about 1999 the brewer at the Port Dock had fallen out with the licensee and my mate got the job as the brewer there. Only problem was the previous guy took all the recipes with him so my mate had to recreate them all and I think he created a few of his own.

He stayed there for a few years before heading to Albert Park in Melbourne and creating a few new brews there and lo and behold, he is now the brewer at the Grand in Mildura!

He's done pretty well for a bloke in his early 30s.

Christies Beach Hotel has Christies Pale Ale on tap

The Inglewood Inn has it's "own" pale ale as well. I was told this product comes from WA and what is seen at Christies and Inglewood is simply relabling of a generic beer.

Little Creatures in Freo is more a brewery turned into pub, but is an excellent spot to sit down and have a beer or two...highly recommend it if you are over that way.

james squire is brewed in a pub in melbourne. (that might of changed, that was when i was there a few years ago, since then they have started pushing other states markets, and i think it was bought out, not sure though. still a nice beer)

It's certainly worthwhile, I was there about a year ago.
